KIA Seltos

KIA Seltos is a compact premium SUV offering that was designed by KIA Cars specifically for developing markets like India and Nepal. First showcased as the SP2 Concept at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, the car finally made its debut in 2019 as the SP2i or the KIA Seltos. 

Seltos is one of the best-selling models for KIA Cars India, the four-wheeler has not received any major makeovers since launch in the country. Built on Hyundai-Kia K2 platform, the 2023 Seltos shares equipment and powertrain with models like the Hyundai Creta, KIA Sonet and more.

KIA Seltos: Exterior

The KIA Seltos exterior features a bold look with its large surfaces and signature lines. Upfront the New Seltos offers a large KIA Tiger Nose grille flanked by new crown jewel LED headlamps and new indicator units. 

Other new elements on the exterior include an angular design for the bumper, new ice cube shaped LED fog lamps and a skid plate. Moving to the side profile, the Seltos car gets new R17 alloy wheels, a shark fin antenna and a kink in the window line towards the rear merging into the roof spoiler. 

Towards the rear, the car also provides new design LED tail lamps and a dual muffler design to complete the sporty SUV look.

KIA Seltos: Interior and Features

Interiors: On the inside, the KIA Seltos’s interior provides an upmarket feel with its kinetic art lounge inspired design. With tight tolerances and the use of soft touch materials on the dashboard, the cabin helps provide users the feeling of being cocooned in the lap of luxury.

Features: Finished in an all-black theme, the new cabin features advanced 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, premium 8-speaker BOSE sound system, a large 7.0-inch instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, segment first HUD (Heads Up Display) and more. 

Safety: In terms of safety, the KIA Seltos offers 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, engine immobiliser, TPMS monitoring, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors as basic equipment. In addition, the car also gets switchable drive modes and traction control as standard on all automatic variants.

KIA Seltos: Price and Variants

KIA Seltos price in India starts from Rs 12.35 lakh and extends to Rs 20.35 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in a total of 24 variants - HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, GTX (O), GTX Plus and X-Line variants.

KIA Seltos: Engine and Specification

In terms of powertrain, the KIA Seltos comes equipped with three engine options that include a 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and another 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit. The standard petrol and diesel engines produce 115 bhp and 144 Nm (petrol)/ 250 Nm (diesel) of peak torque. 

While the 1.4-litre turbo petrol is rated for a maximum power output of 140 bhp and 242 Nm of peak torque. All the three engines are offered with a 6-speed manual while the automatic options include a 6-speed iMT and iVT on the standard petrol, 6-speed AT on the diesel and 7-speed DCT on the turbo petrol. 

The KIA Seltos measures 4,315mm in length, is 1,800mm wide and 1,645mm tall having a wheelbase of 2,610mm. The car gets a large 50-litre fuel tank and up to 18-inch alloy wheels.

KIA Seltos: Mileage

The 2023 KIA Seltos returns a claimed fuel economy of up to 20.3 kmpl in the diesel manual guise. 

KIA Seltos: Colour Options

There are 7 distinct single tone exterior colour options available on the KIA Seltos. They include Sparkling Silver, Imperial Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Grey, Glacier White Pearl, Clear White and Intense Red. The Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey and Intense Red colours can also be ordered with a contrast Aurora Black Pearl roof. 

In addition, the X-Line model is available in a special Matte Graphite colour option.
