Second-Generation Maserati GranTurismo Launched At Rs. 2.72 Crore

Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer Maserati launched the next generation of its GranTurismo sports car on Friday. Two variants will be offered - Modena and Trofeo - which are priced at Rs. 2.72 crore and Rs. 2.90 crore, both ex-showroom before customisation upgrades. Besides cosmetic and feature upgrades, the power output has been increased. Maserati also plans to bring GranCabrio and GT2 Stradale to India at a later date. However, reports could not confirm the all-electric Maserati GranTurismo Folgore’s India debut.  “[The GranTurismo] is an intersection of a nearly unobtainable balance of power and luxury, of thrills and relaxation, of future and tradition, of racetrack innovation for unprecedented road performance,” Maserati claimed. Maserati GranTurismo Modena The overall low-slung silhouette characterised by flowing lines is retained. We could spot larger air intakes and splitters on the bumper which also houses the chrome Maserati Trident. Twenty and 21-inch wheels front and back are standard on both trims. Further, the standard equipment offered inside includes a 12.2-inch MID and a centrally-mounted 12.3-inch infotainment unit. To operate the HVAC controls, an 8.8-inch touchscreen has been equipped. The Modena trim is capable of producing 489bhp and 600Nm of peak torque from a 3-litre V6 twin-turbo petrol pot, achieving a 0-100 kmph time of 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 302 kmph.  Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo Priced for a premium of Rs. 18 lakhs over the Modena, the GranTurismo Trofeo boasts aggressive bumpers and carbon-fibre elements across the body. The cabin gets different upholstery and sporty elements, setting the Trofeo apart. Under the hood lies the same mill but power and torque figures have been increased to 550bhp and 650Nm, increases of over 12% and 18% respectively, resulting in a 0-100 kmph sprint of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 320 kmph. Both variants share the same torque figures of 450 Nm. Meanwhile, the high-end Trofeo gets a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine which can churn out 523 bhp of power and 620 Nm of torque. Transmission options on all three variants include an 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive.
