All-Electric MINI Cooper SE bookings reopen in India; Limited to 40 units; Now comes with added features; Priced at Rs 50.90 lakh BMW Group India has re-opened bookings for the MINI Cooper SE in India. The all-electric hatchback now gets added features and has become pricier than before at Rs 50.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The second batch of the four-wheeler is limited to just 40 units and can be booked online at the MINI online shop. MINI Cooper SE: Exterior Styling Enhancements Rs 2.20 lakh extra gets you features like adaptive LED headlights, a new housing for the LED indicators and the ‘S’ logo finished in energetic yellow. Towards the side, the company has provided the car with new 17-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels with new yellow outlining, while the rear remains unchanged. MINI Cooper SE: Added Features to the Interior The cabin of the Cooper SE now sports a new cloth/ leatherette combination upholstery finished in black pearl light chequered finish. Its steering wheel is wrapped in Nappa leather and comes with reduced control switches for easy operation. Other prominent additions to the four-wheeler’s cabin include heated and cooled front seats along with a comfort access system which lets you lock and unlock the car without taking the keys out. MINI Cooper SE: Powertrain Details Despite the bump in price, the Cooper SE’s power unit remains the same. The electric hatchback comes powered by a 96-cell battery pack that propels a 135 kW electric motor. The system is rated for a maximum power output of 181.5 bhp with 270 Nm of peak torque. Performance wise, it sprints from 0-100 kmph in just 7.3 seconds and offers a range of 270 kilometres on a full charge. The 50 kW DC charger charges the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 36 minutes. In addition to the changes, the car comes loaded with modern tech features like MINI wired package with navigation system, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay and Harmon Kardon speaker sound system. Other standard equipment include dynamic stability control, crash sensor, anti-lock braking system, cornering brake control, run-flat tyres and a rear-view camera.

Prior to this price announcement, the British marquee had already stopped pre-launch bookings for the vehicle due to the overwhelming response on the allotted units. As a result, the MINI Cooper SE currently stands sold out with deliveries slated to begin in March 2022. For those of you looking to purchase this new electric vehicle there is good news as the company intends to reopen bookings for the new batch of cars next month. They can be booked exclusively on the MINI Online Shop. Celebrating 10 years of existence in India, MINI has introduced the Cooper SE in the all-important premium electric vehicle segment. It is offered in four colour options namely Midnight Black, White Silver, Moonwalk Grey and British Racing Green. The exterior profile carries forward the traditional MINI silhouette however to differentiate the electric car from the standard MINI Cooper, there are a few design elements thrown into the package. For example the front grille is blanked-out offering a New ‘E’ badge giving it an overall sleek look. The round LED headlamps & Union Jack-themed tail lights add character while the front & rear bumpers have been reworked to provide it a distinctive feel. Move to the sides and there are asymmetrical 17-inch alloy wheels with yellow touches given to them. Featuring a 32.6 kWh battery pack, the MINI Cooper SE produces a maximum power output of 184 bhp with 270 Nm of peak torque. It is said that the car can accelerate from 0 – 100 kilometres in just 7.3 seconds and has a range of 270 kilometres on a single charge. The car can be recharged via a 50 kW DC charger from 0 - 80 percent in just 36 minutes while a 11 kW AC charger takes 2 hours 30 minutes for 0 – 80 percent charge. As for the 2.3 kW AC charger, it will take 9 hours 43 minutes for 0 - 80 percent charge.
