Honda Cars India has launched the new Honda City Sport edition at an introductory price tag of Rs 14.89 lakh, ex-showroom, Pan India. It is positioned above the entry-level City V CVT variant and comes with subtle changes outside and inside.
The Honda City Sport Edition is around Rs 49,000 expensive than the V CVT variant. It has all the features that are accessible in the V variant. Additionally, the City Sport gets a 7-colour ambient lighting system and leatherette upholstery for seats, steering and gear knob.
Key features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, fog lamps, keyless entry and go and automatic headlamps. This model is only available with a CVT gearbox along with paddle shifters. It also gets the camera-based ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) tech with features like autonomous emergency braking, auto high beam, lane assist, adaptive cruise control and others.
However, the new City Sport misses out on some of the features that are available VX and ZX variants. It lacks an electric sunroof, the lane watch camera, a digital driver’s display, automatic wipers, and auto-dimming IRVM. Adding to it, the City Sport has no rear AC vents and tweeters.
The new Honda City Sport Edition comes with blacked-out treatment on several design elements. It comes with a sporty black grille, a black trunk lip spoiler, glossy black shark fin antenna and an Exclusive Sport emblem. The sedan gets multi-spoke grey alloy wheels and blacked-out ORVMs.
The new City Sport gets an all-black cabin featuring Premium Leather Black Seats with contrasting red stitches on seats, door inserts and steering wheel. The pillars and roof lining are finished in black. The dashboard also has contrasting red trim, while the air con vents are finished in gloss black.
The Honda City Sport is powered by the tried & tested 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine paired to a CVT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. This engine is capable of producing 119bhp and 145Nm of torque. It is claimed to offer an ARAI certified fuel economy of 18.4kmpl.
