2026 Maruti Brezza facelift spotted with new underbody CNG tank New setup could significantly increase boot space and practicality Updated LED tail lamps, alloy wheels, and bigger touchscreen expected
Maruti Suzuki has once again been spotted testing the updated 2026 Brezza ahead of its expected launch later this year. Fresh spy shots reveal the compact SUV under heavy camouflage, hinting at multiple design and practicality upgrades.
One of the biggest highlights of the facelift is expected to be a new underbody-mounted CNG tank, which could significantly improve luggage space inside the SUV.

The latest test mule clearly shows the presence of an underbody CNG cylinder setup. Currently, this technology is offered only with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, but it now appears ready to expand to more models in the company’s lineup.
In the current Brezza CNG, the cylinder is placed inside the boot, reducing luggage capacity. By moving the tank under the vehicle floor, Maruti can free up extra boot space, making the SUV more practical for families and long-distance travel.
This update could become a major advantage for buyers looking for a fuel-efficient SUV without compromising on storage space.

Maruti Suzuki is already among the few brands offering a factory-fitted CNG SUV in this segment. Other rivals include the Tata Nexon CNG, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
While the Kiger and Magnite get dealer-level CNG kits, the Nexon comes with a factory-fitted setup and even offers a turbo-petrol engine. Tata uses a dual-cylinder setup in the Nexon CNG with a total capacity of 60 litres, while the Brezza currently uses a single 55-litre tank.
Despite the smaller capacity, the Brezza delivers a claimed mileage of 25.51 km/kg, which is notably higher than the Nexon CNG’s 17.44 km/kg. With the addition of the underbody tank and improved practicality, the updated Brezza could become an even stronger choice in the compact SUV segment.
The spy shots also reveal a revised LED tail lamp setup and a fresh set of alloy wheels. Reports suggest that the facelifted Brezza may also receive redesigned front and rear bumpers, an updated grille, and slightly tweaked headlamps.
These changes are expected to give the SUV a more modern look while retaining its familiar design language.
Inside the cabin, Maruti could introduce a larger touchscreen infotainment system along with feature updates. The SUV is also expected to get a new six-speed manual gearbox, which may improve highway cruising and overall driving comfort.
The Brezza is likely to continue with its existing petrol and CNG engine options.
