While the European-spec model uses the smaller 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.6L strong hybrid powertrains, the India-spec Hyundai Bayon is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers the Hyundai Creta.

The 1.5L, 4-cylinder, MPi petrol engine produces 115 PS at 6,300rpm and a peak torque of 144 Nm at 4,500rpm. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and an iVT (CVT Automatic).

The automatic version offers 3 drive modes - Eco, Normal and Sport. The AT also comes with paddle shifters. The IVT also has Dash Boost Mode and Sporty Drive Tech for spirited driving experience.
