Hyundai Bayon Price in India
At its 2025 Investors Day presentation, Hyundai Motor Company confirmed 26 new products for the Indian market including seven all-new nameplates. The roadmap also highlights the brand’s entry into two new segments – MPVs and off-road SUVs - by 2030.
Fast forward to its FY25-26 investor presentation, Hyundai announced two brand-new SUVs, midsize and compact EV. The new Hyundai midsize SUV, expected to be based on the globally sold Hyundai Bayon, will be positioned below the Hyundai Creta and sold alongside it.
Hyundai India has confirmed that its new midsize SUV will arrive during the current financial year, i.e. by March 2027.
The new Hyundai Bayon-based SUV is expected to be priced more or less similar to the Creta, which is currently priced between Rs 10.79 lakh – Rs 20.05 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming SUV is estimated to cost around ₹9.00 Lakhs* for the entry-level trim and up to ₹14.00 Lakhs* for the fully-loaded trim.
Codenamed Bc4i, the Hyundai Bayon SUV is likely to be based on the same platform as the i20 hatchback. The India-bound model is expected to measure identical to the global Bayon, which is 4,180mm long, 1,775mm wide and up to 1,500mm tall.
Hyundai SUVs are known for their premium and feature-packed cabins, and same expectations surround the upcoming midsize SUV. The Bayon is likely to come with advanced connectivity and safety features, driver assistance functionalities and more.
It is still too early to confirm the engine specifications of the upcoming SUV. However, the Bayon-based SUV is likely to be offered with the naturally aspirated petrol and CNG powertrain options. Hyundai’s major focus will be on providing high fuel efficiency, optimum performance and lower running costs.
Earlier reports suggest that Hyundai will introduce an all-new 1.2L turbo petrol engine with the Hyundai Bayon. This new engine will be more efficient than the existing 1.0L turbo motor, and support hybrid technology. It’s said to offer better torque delivery and improved drivability than the 1.0L unit. Transmission choices could include a dual-clutch automatic or an eCVT.
Globally, the Hyundai Bayon is currently available with a 1.0L turbo petrol engine that produces power worth 120bhp and 172Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
In the highly competitive midsize SUV segment, the new Hyundai Bayon will face challenge from models like Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris, Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate and the upcoming Nissan Tekton.
| Variants | Expected Price |
|---|---|
| Hyundai Bayon Asta | ₹9.90 Lakh* |
| Hyundai Bayon Sportz | ₹15.82 Lakh* |
