Toyota Hilux

The Toyota Hilux is a full-size pick-up truck and one of the longest running nameplates in Toyota’s history. Since its initial launch in 1968, the model has spawned eight generations and numerous facelifts.

The current generation Hilux model received its final upgrade in early 2020, which is currently available for purchase in the country. This new update brought along subtle cosmetic changes to the model along with more interior features to make it future ready.

Toyota Hilux: Exterior

The 2023 Toyota Hilux’s exterior design is utilitarian in nature. Everything on the pickup from the large trapezoidal grille to the tough bash plate scream of ruggedness. The front end features new design LED headlamps, fog lamps and a muscular bumper that enhance the butch appeal of the truck.

Towards the sides, we get to see new design chrome alloy wheels and massive body cladding. As for the rear, there are LED combination lights that complete the overall look of the vehicle.

Toyota Hilux: Interiors and Features

Interior: Moving to the inside, the Hilux once again shows its utilitarian nature with its flat dashboard and mechanical grab rails.

Features: Although the Hilux is an off-road-focused vehicle, Toyota has equipped it with essential features to enhance passenger comfort. These features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone AC, and leather seats.

Safety: In terms of safety, the New Hilux offers 7-airbags, ABS with EBD, hill assist control, front & rear parking sensors and more basic equipment as standard.

Toyota Hilux: Price and Variants

2023 Toyota Hilux price in India starts from Rs 30.40 lakh and extends up to Rs 37.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in a total of 3 variants, STD and High with both manual and automatic transmission options.

Toyota Hilux: Engine and Specification

The Toyota Hilux in India comes equipped with only one diesel engine option. The 2.8-litre unit that does duty on the Fortuner and the Legender is carried over to the pickup truck. The power figures on this model is identical to its siblings at 200 bhp and 420 Nm torque (500 Nm on the automatic variants).

This engine option is available with either a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed automatic transmission option alongside paddle shifters. In addition, the 2023 Hilux also features a full-time 4X4 system with Electronic Locking Differential and Limited Slip Differential. 

The New Hilux measures 5325mm in length, 1,855mm in width and 1,815mm in height having a wheelbase of 3,085mm. The car gets an 80-litre fuel tank and up to 18-inch alloy wheels.
