New Toyota Hilux will launch in India on July 28. Teaser reveals a bold new front design and new body colour. Bigger screens, ADAS and a 2.8-litre diesel engine are expected.
Toyota has released the first teaser of the next-generation Hilux ahead of its India launch on July 28. While the teaser does not reveal the entire pickup truck, it gives us a first look at the updated front design and confirms that the new model is just days away from its debut.
The upcoming Hilux is expected to bring a fresh look, more features and improved technology, while continuing with the same diesel engine.
The teaser highlights the front end of the new Hilux, which gets a completely refreshed look.
It features a larger front grille, slimmer LED headlamps and bold 'TOYOTA' lettering across the grille instead of the traditional Toyota logo.
Toyota has also previewed a new exterior colour called Sunglow, giving buyers another option to choose from. The teaser also shows a roll bar mounted on the cargo bed, although it is not yet clear whether it will be offered as standard or as an official accessory.
Like the current model, the new Hilux will continue to be sold in a double-cab version in India.

Toyota is expected to give the Hilux a major cabin upgrade with several new features.
The pickup truck could get a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, powered and ventilated front seats, connected car technology and a 9-speaker JBL sound system.
These additions are expected to make the cabin feel more modern and comfortable.
The new Hilux is also expected to receive a stronger safety package.
It could come with Level 2 ADAS, seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system and front and rear parking sensors.
The latest generation of the Hilux has already earned a 5-star safety rating from the Australian NCAP crash test programme.
Under the bonnet, Toyota is expected to continue offering the familiar 2.8-litre diesel engine.
It produces 204 PS and up to 500 Nm of torque with the automatic gearbox. Buyers are likely to get both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options, with four-wheel drive offered as standard.
There are also reports that Toyota could introduce a mild-hybrid version of the diesel engine, similar to the one offered in the Fortuner, although the company has not confirmed this yet.
Toyota will officially launch the new Hilux in India on July 28. Prices are expected to start at around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
Once launched, it will continue to rival the Isuzu V-Cross, while also serving as an alternative for buyers looking for a lifestyle vehicle alongside SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner.
