Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) was established in 1995 as a joint venture between Honda Motor Company Limited (HMCL) and Usha International called Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI). In 2012, the Japanese counterpart bought a 100 percent stake in the company and renamed it as Honda Cars India Limited (HICL). Currently, the brand operates from its manufacturing facilities in Greater Noida and Tapukara.

Recently, Honda Cars launched the City e:HEV sedan, the first strong mainstream hybrid in India. The car is priced at Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and offers a class leading mileage of 26.5 kmpl.
