Volkswagen Cars provides the Indian automobile market with one sedan and two SUVs. The Volkswagen Virtus sedan and the Taigun compact SUV make up the budget fleet of the company while the Tiguan SUV is the flagship model.
Volkswagen Cars was established back in 2007 as a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited. In 2019, under the India 2.0 Strategy, Volkswagen Group announced the merger of its three Indian subsidiaries into Skoda Auto Volkswagen India. Currently, this company has its headquarters in Chakan near Pune and its production units in Chakan as well as in Aurangabad.
Volkswagen started its innings in India with the internationally famous Passat sedan. Since then, the company has launched numerous products like the Jetta, Beetle, Touareg and so on.
Volkswagen Cars price in India starts from Rs 11.22 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Virtus sedan and extends to Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Tiguan SUV.

Volkswagen Cars are best known for their German engineering and quality interiors. But the Taigun and the Virtus, with their 1.5-litre engine and cylinder deactivation technology, offer the best fuel economy in the line-up. The vehicles offer a claimed mileage of 15-18 kmpl. In the premium segment, the Tiguan SUV offers a claimed fuel economy of 12-14 kmpl.
