Toyota Innova Hycross

The Toyota Innova Hycross, developed as a global product, was launched in India in November 2022. Hycross positioned as a premium MPV, this four-wheeler aims to replicate the success of its predecessors, the Innova and Innova Crysta, while addressing certain issues through the use of a new monocoque chassis and lighter steering. In its latest avatar, the car gets updated exterior design along with a more modern interior and efficient powertrain choices.

Toyota Innova Hycross: Exterior

The 2023 Toyota Innova Hycross exterior design is more SUV-ish than before. Upfront it offers a flat bonnet with muscular lines and a large honeycomb grille. The grille is flanked by new design LED headlamps while the turn indicator and the DRLs are placed separately on the bumper in an all-new housing. 

The sides of the Innova Hycross we get with thick black body cladding, a prominent shoulder line, squared-off wheel arches, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The car's distinctive SUV look is completed by bulging rear quarter panels and a curved tailgate with a spoiler.

Despite its sharp departure from the previous generation model, the overall design is reminiscent of the Innova.

Toyota Innova Hycross: Interiors and Features

Interior: Keeping in theme with the exterior, the interior of the 2023 Toyota Innova Hycross is a sharp departure from the previous generation model. Moving away from the plastic interior, the new model introduces premium soft touch finishes to the dashboard along with a dark chestnut dual-tone colour scheme for the overall cabin.

Features: New Toyota Innova Hycross provides features such as a large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system from JBL offering 9 speakers, 8-way power adjustable driver seat with memory function, digital instrument cluster, multi-zone AC, ventilated front seats and ambient lighting among others. Taking comfort to the next level, the Hycross comes equipped with powered Ottoman seats for the second row and a large panoramic sunroof. 

Safety: In terms of safety, the New Toyota Innova Hycross gets 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-hold control, a 360-degree camera and more. 

In addition to the standard equipment the car also gets the full Toyota Safety Sense Suite that includes functions such as radar guided cruise control, auto high beam assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist and more, making this the safest MPV on sale in the country.

Toyota Innova Hycross: Price and Variants

2023 Toyota Innova Hycross price in India starts from Rs 19.67 lakh and extends up to Rs 30.26 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in a total of 8 variants that include G, GX, VX, ZX, ZX (O) with a choice of either petrol or hybrid engine options.

Toyota Innova Hycross: Engine and Specification

The Innova Hycross in India comes equipped with two petrol engine options. The first is a 172 bhp, 2.0-litre powerplant that comes mated to CVT gearbox option. The other is a 2.0-litre petrol engine with 5th generation TNGA Hybrid system that is rated for a maximum power output of 183 bhp and peak torque of 188 Nm. This powertrain is available with only a e-CVT gearbox option. 

The Toyota Innova Hycross measures 4,755mm in length, 1,845mm in width and 1,785mm in height having a wheelbase of 2,850mm. The car gets a 52-litre fuel tank and up to 18-inch alloy wheels.
