Toyota Corolla Cross

Toyota India had shelved the plans for the Corolla Cross based 7-seater SUV, as it did not meet the technical commercial viability. However, the project is now back on the table and it will be the first model to roll out from the company’s upcoming Aurangabad facility. 

Toyota Corolla Cross Launch Date

The new Toyota Corolla Cross is expected to be launched by late 2028 or early 2029. It will be produced at Toyota’s upcoming production facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. 

Expected Price in India

The new Toyota Corolla Cross based SUV will be positioned between the Hyryder and Innova Hycross in Toyota’s line-up. We expect the new Corolla Cross to price around ₹25.00 Lakhs*, ex-showroom. 

Key Features

The next Toyota Corolla Cross will be based on the brand’s TNGA-C modular architecture that also underpins the Hycross. However, its wheelbase will be smaller than the MPV. The existing model has a wheelbase of 2640mm, which is expected to be increased by 150mm to accommodate third-row seat. In terms of features, the SUV will have a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment unit with smartphone connectivity, and a 12.3-inch fully digital driver’s display, ambient lighting, ventilated and heated seats, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof and others. 

Engine Specifications

The Corolla Cross is expected to share its powertrain with the Innova Hycross. It is offered with two engine options - a 2.0L petrol and a 2.0L TNGA hybrid. The petrol engine is capable of producing 173hp and 209Nm of torque. The hybrid version offers 183.7hp of power and its electric motor adds another 209Nm of torque.

The new Corolla Cross based 7-seater SUV is expected to be positioned against the likes of the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Jeep Meridian, Tata Safari and others in the category.
