Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq

Mahindra has introduced the new BE 6 Sporteq, which is basically the re-badged and updated version of the BE 6.  To mark the debut of the BE 6 Sporteq range, Mahindra has also introduced the top-of-the-line Launch Edition and the performance-focused Formula E Freedom Edition.  It debuts the new 70 kWh battery pack, which sits right between the existing 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery choices. Moreover, the SUV gets 4 new colour choices, a triple screen dashboard and new interior schemes.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Price

The new BE 6 Sporteq electric SUV is available in 8 variants.  The 5-seater SUV Coupe is available at a starting price of ₹19.45 Lakhs* and extends up to ₹26.95 Lakhs*, ex-showroom, India.

Key Features

The new BE 6 Sporteq shares most of the features from the previous model. The SUV gets 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting system, customisable LED tail-lamp text displays, fixed panoramic glass roof, and flush-fitting door handles.

In the new avatar, the SUV gets a triple screen dashboard layout consisting of 12.3-inch central touchscreen unit, a 12.3-inch digital instrument console and a dedicated 12.3-inch co-occupant entertainment screen. It also gets a redesigned dashboard, which now has cleaner horizontal layout for improved storage space. The wireless charging pad and USB Type-C ports are now more accessible.

The Launch Edition gets an exclusive Full Racing Tan interior theme, while the Formula E Edition retains the dual-screen dashboard. In terms of features, the Coupe-SUV gets a Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos for immersive sound system, ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 540-degree surround view camera, a head-up display, LEVEL 2 ADAS, connected car tech, auto park assist, NFC digital key and others.

Safety Features

The electric Coupe SUV comes with 6 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, and an intelligent electronic brake booster equipped with 46 extra features. It also has a driver drowsiness detection feature with the electronic parking brake along with rear parking sensors, HD camera, TPMS, ESP, and LEVEL 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Battery Specifications and Charging

The new Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq is available with three battery choices - 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh. The 59 kWh offers 231hp, while the 70 kWh unit produces 245hp and the 79 kWh battery version delivers 286 Nm, The torque output for all three batteries stand at 380 Nm.

The 59 kWh battery delivers a claimed MIDC range of 548 km, while the 70 kWh delivers 651 km. The top-spec 79 kWh unit is claimed to return an impressive range of 683 km. The 59 KWh battery supports up to 140 kW DC fast charging, the 70 kWh battery can take up to 160 kW DC fast charging. The 79 kWh unit supports up to 180 kW charging. All three battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 20 minutes. An optional 7.2 kW or 11.2 kW AC wall charger is also available, and batteries can be charged in 6 hours to 11.7 hours.

Dimensions and Boot Space

It measures 4371mm in length, 1907mm in width, and 1627mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2775mm. The BE Sporteq has a 455-litre boot space and comes with a 45-litre frunk.

Colours

The new BE 6 Sporteq is available in 12 paint schemes, including 4 new colours - Rosso Impulso, Ruby Velvet, Graphite Storm and Firestorm Orange Satin. Other colour choices include Tango Red, Desert Myst, Everest White Satin, Firestorm Orange, Desert Myst Satin, White Myst Satin, Deep Forest, and Napoli Black.
