The new XEV 9S electric SUV comes with three connected screens comprising a 12.3-inch central infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s unit and a 12.3-inch co-occupant entertainment screen. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 2nd row seats with slide and recline function, 3rd row seats with 2-step recline, all power windows, LED lighting system, power Bose mode, dual-zone climate control and others. The higher-spec model also gets augmented reality head-up display. 

Safety Features

As standard, the new Mahindra XEV 9S gets 6 airbags, all disc brakes, electronic parking brake with auto hold, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, ISOFIX, Hill start assist, reverse camera, rear defogger and rear washer wiper as standard. Higher-spec variants get 360-degree camera, blind view camera, LEVEL 2 ADAS tech, front parking sensors and others.

Range and Charging

The electric SUV is available in 3 battery packs - 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh. All are offered with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The 59kWh unit offers 231PS and 380Nm of torque, while the 70kWh unit produces 245PS and 380Nm. The higher-spec 79kWh unit with RWD setup delivers 286PS and 380Nm.

Charging Status

Using a 140kW charger, the 59kWh battery can achieve 20-80% charging status in 20 mins. The 70kWh battery can achieve 20-80% charging status in 20 mins using 160kW DC fast charger. The top-spec 79kWh battery pack can achieve 20-80% charging status in 20 mins using a 180kW charger.

Dimensions and Boot Space

The new Mahindra XEV 9S measures 4737mm in length, 1900mm in width and 1747mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2762mm. The SUV offers a ground clearance of 201mm, which is good enough to tackle Indian roads. 

With all rows in position, the Mahindra XEV 9S has limited boot space. It has a 150-litres frunk, which adds to its practicality. The SUV offers upto 527-litres of luggage space with third-row seats folded down.

Mahindra XEV 9S has no direct rivals in our market, but it could impact the sales of the Tata Harrier EV and the Mahindra XEV 9e.
