April 17, 2025 - Kia has started working on the electric version of the Syros compact SUV. The company has confirmed that the mass market electric SUV will be launched in the country in 2026. It is likely to share the battery pack and electric motor with the Hyundai Creta EV. 

April 14, 2025 - Kia Syros has secured 5 star crash test safety rating from Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program). The company received 5 star crash tests rating for both adult and child occupant protection.

February 24, 2025 - Kia Syros bookings crossed 20,000 mark in just 2 months of its launch. Bookings for the Syros commenced on January 3, 2025. 67 per cent of the buyers opt for the petrol variant, while 33 per cent opt for the diesel variant. The automatic variants contributed to 38% of the total orders. 

February 25, 2025 - Kia confirms that the Syros Glacier White Pearl Colour variant is in high demand, accounting for 32% of total orders. In fact, the top-spec ADAS variant contributed 18% of total bookings.

February 1, 2025 - Kia has launched its new lifestyle SUV, the Stros SUV in the Indian market. The all-new sub-compact SUV is available in 6 broad trims, priced between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 17.80 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India).

Priced at Rs 8.99 lakh, the new Kia Syros is positioned between the Sonet and Seltos in Kia India’s line-up. The SUV made its public debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. It is offered with turbo petrol and diesel engine options, and both manual and automatic gearbox options are on offer.

The petrol version is powered by a 118bhp, 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged engine, while the oil burner gets the 114bhp, 1.5L turbo unit. The Syros is available in 6 broad variants with diesel range starts at Rs 11 lakh.

The Kia Syros is available in 6 trim levels - HTK, HTK (O), HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus and HTX Plus (O) - and in total of 13 variants. The Syros price in India starts at Rs 899900 and goes up to Rs 1779900, ex-showroom. 

Key Features of Kia Syros

The Kia Syros is a premium sub-4 meter SUV, which comes equipped with several segment-first features. It gets a segment-first Over-the-Air (OTA) software update system, which allows automatic updates of 16 controllers without requiring dealership visit. The Kia Connect 2.0 system offers 80+ features. 

The new Syros is equipped with a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display panel that houses a 5-inch Climate Control Display, a 12.3-inch infotainment unit and a digital driver's display. The infotainment unit is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets a Harman Kardon Premium 8=speaker sound system. 

Other features include rear seat ventilation, sliding and reclining 60:40 split rear seats, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable driver & co-passenger seat with ventilation function, and a 360-degree surround view camera. The SUV gets all-LED lighting system and 17-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels.

How Safe is Kia Syros?

 Kia Syros Bharat NCAP Crash Test Result -  the Syros has scored five-star ratings for both adult and child occupant protection in Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) crash tests. The SUV scored 30.21 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection or AOP and 44.42 out of maximum 49 points in Child Occupant Protection (COP). 

The Kia Syros is fitted with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with 16 autonomous safety features. It gets adaptive cruise control, front collision warning with avoidance assist, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist and lane follow assist, auto high-beam and others.

The Syros safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree surround view camera with blind view monitor, electronic stability control, hill start assist control, and others.

Syros Engine Specifications

The Syros is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that powers the Sonet. This engine is capable of producing 120bhp and 172Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT or dual-clutch automatic transmission. 

The diesel version gets the 1.5L CRDi unit that powers the Seltos, Sonet and Carens. This engine is known for offering refinement and fuel efficiency. It is capable of producing 114bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard, while a 6-speed torque convertor automatic unit comes as an optional. 

Kia Syros Mileage

The Syros petrol manual is claimed to offer an ARAI certified mileage of 18.2kmpl, while the petrol AT delivers 17.68kmpl. On the other hand, the Syros diesel returns 20.75kmpl and 17.65kmpl with manual and automatic gearbox, respectively. In the real-world conditions, the Syros should return close to 13kmpl in city traffic and 18kmpl on highways.

The Kia Syros is available in eight exterior colour options including Glacier White Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Pewter Olive, Fronst Blue, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Imperial Blue, and Gravity Gray.

The Syros is Kia's second SUV in the sub-4 meter category and measures 3,995mm in length, 1805mm in width and 1625mm in height. The SUV has a wheelbase of 2550mm, which is 50mm higher than the Sonet. The longer wheelbase allows Kia designers to create to more space inside the cabin. 

What is the boot space of Kia Syros?

The Syros offers a flexible boot space, as the rear seats can be slide forward to increase the boot space. The Kia Syros offers a boot space between 390-litres to 465-litres based on the rear seat position. Moreover, the split seats can be folded down to further increase the luggage carrying capacity.
