KIA Carnival Hybrid Price in India
At its 2026 Kia CEO Investor Day event, Kia announced its plan to launch 10 new models by 2030 in the Indian market. The upcoming lineup will include eight electrified models including the Syros EV, Sorento Hybrid, and Carnival Hybrid. While the Syros EV and Sorento Hybrid are slated to launch in 2026, the Seltos hybrid and next-generation Sonet hybrid are likely to arrive in early 2027 and 2028-29, respectively. The Kia Carnival hybrid will serve as the brand’s flagship hybrid offering in India.
Launch Date
The strong hybrid Carnival MPV is expected to hit Indian roads by 2029.
Expected Price in India
The Kia Carnival hybrid is likely to command a premium over its ICE counterpart, which is currently available at Rs 59.65 lakh (ex-showroom).
Key Features
The overall design and styling of the Kia Carnival hybrid will be largely similar to its diesel counterpart. However, the ‘hybrid’ badges will distinguish both models. The premium MPV will feature Kia’s signature boxy and modern design language with elements such as Kia’s ‘Tiger Nose’ grille, vertically positioned LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and taillamps connected by a LED light bar.
Similar to its ICE version, the hybrid Carnival will offer a 2+2+3 seating configuration with second-row captain seats with ventilation and heating functions along with adjustable leg support. In terms of features, the premium three-row MPV will offer dual 12.3-inch curved displays, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, a 11-inch HUD (Head-Up Display), three zone climate control, dual electric sunroofs, wireless charging pads, a 12-way powered driver’s seat and more.
The safety package will include eight airbags, a 360-degree camera, front, rear and side parking sensors, electronic stability control, hill assist control, a Level 2 ADAS suite and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Engine Specifications
The facelifted fourth-generation Kia Carnival is currently available in India only with a diesel engine. However, the US-spec Carnival hybrid features Kia-Hyundai’s latest turbo hybrid electric (HEV) powertrain. It consists of a 1.6L turbo petrol engine paired with a 74bhp, permanent magnet synchronous motor and a 1.49kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The MPV gets a FWD (front-wheel drive) as standard.
As of now, it remains unclear whether Kia will introduce the same hybrid powertrain in India or use a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine based hybrid powertrain.
Competition
In terms of pricing and positioning, the Kia Carnival hybrid is expected to compete with premium MPVs such as the Toyota Innova Hycross, MG M9 and Toyota Vellfire.
