KIA Carnival is a luxury minivan that was launched in India during Delhi Auto Expo 2020. The Carnival has been around since 1998 and has become very popular globally. It has gone through four different versions and the latest one, called the third-generation avatar, was recently introduced in India. Built on Hyundai-KIA Y6 platform, the popular MPV offers its owners the versatility and functionality with multi-row seating.
The Carnival’s exterior design features large flat panels with little to no characteristic lines. Upfront the car gets the traditional Tiger Nose grille along with a large drooping bonnet and bumper that house the ice-cube LED fog lamps.
The car sits on large 18-inch alloy wheels that look small due to the large electronically operated rear sliding door and wide glass area. The curvaceous design of the Carnival gives it a proper MPV/ minivan look.
Interior: When you look inside the KIA Carnival, you might notice that it looks a bit old-fashioned. The small touchscreen, analogue dials, and plastic dash top might make it feel outdated.
Despite the outdated features, there are some things that make the KIA Carnival's interior look better. The black and beige color combination for the interior, as well as the new quilted leatherette seats, help improve the cabin's appearance. Although the front seats are simple, the second row has VIP captain seats that are very comfortable. They have many adjustable features and even come with a leg rest to provide ultimate comfort.
Features: This KIA Car has included many features in the new model of the Carnival. There is a tri-zone AC system that has separate controls for each row, a wireless charger, a smart air purifier, a dual-pane electric sunroof, and a dual-screen rear seat entertainment package. The car also comes with an 8-speaker Harman Kardon Premium sound system, among other things.
There are also some additional features on the inside of the car. These include a ventilated driver's seat, an electronic park brake, a 220V laptop charger, and sunshade curtains for the 2nd and 3rd rows.
Safety: In terms of safety, the Carnival provides 6-airbags, all-wheel disk brake, Brake Assist, Hill-start Assist Control, ABS with EBD, engine immobiliser, front and rear parking sensor as basic equipment.
KIA Carnival price in India starts from Rs 30.99 lakh and extends to Rs 30.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in a total of 0 variants - Prestige, Limousine and Limousine Plus trims with one diesel engine and automatic gearbox option.
In terms of powertrain, the Carnival comes offered with a single 2.2-litre diesel engine option that is rated for 200 bhp of maximum power and 440 Nm of peak torque. This power plant comes mated to an 8-speed Sportsmatic transmission.
The KIA Carnival is a very big car, both in size and dimensions. It is 5,115mm long, 1,985mm wide, and 1,755mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,060mm. The car gets a large 60-litre fuel tank and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The 2023 KIA Carnival returns a claimed fuel economy of up to 14.11 kmpl.
There are 3 distinct single tone exterior colour options available on the KIA Carnival. They include Steel Silver, Aurora Black Pearl and Glacier White Pearl.
Rivals to the KIA Carnival include the Toyota Innova Hycross.
