Kia India sales jump 48.1% YoY to 29,042 units in August 2026. Syros EV receives an encouraging response from Indian buyers. Seltos and Sonet continue to drive Kia’s sales momentum.
Kia India has recorded strong sales growth in August 2026, with wholesale dispatches rising 48.1 per cent year-on-year to 29,042 units. This is the carmaker’s best-ever August wholesale performance in India. The company had dispatched 19,608 units in August 2025. Kia says the strong performance was supported by continued demand for its SUV range, while the newly launched Syros EV has also received an encouraging response from buyers.
Kia India’s year-to-date wholesale sales for 2026 have reached 2,20,991 units, compared with 1,83,882 units during the corresponding period last year. This represents a growth of 20.1 per cent. The Seltos and Sonet continue to be the biggest contributors to Kia’s volumes. The Seltos has been averaging more than 10,000 units per month since its launch in January, while the Sonet remains a popular choice in the sub-compact SUV segment.

The newly launched Syros EV is also adding momentum to Kia’s portfolio. The electric SUV is aimed at customers looking for a more accessible electric vehicle while offering Kia’s focus on technology and features. Kia is also trying to make EV ownership easier through its Assured Buyback programme, Battery-as-a-Service option and Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty. These initiatives are aimed at addressing concerns around resale value, battery ownership and long-term peace of mind.
Kia’s next major product for India is the Sorento, which is scheduled to launch on September 4, 2026. The three-row SUV will be Kia India’s first hybrid SUV and will also be available with a diesel powertrain. It will target buyers looking for a larger and more premium SUV and will expand Kia’s presence in the premium three-row segment. The Sorento’s arrival will also give Kia a stronger mix of conventional and electrified powertrains in India.
Kia currently has 910 touchpoints across 418 cities in India. Its network is supported by 137 Certified Pre-Owned outlets, which offer used-car sales and exchange services. With the Seltos and Sonet continuing to drive volumes, the Syros EV gaining customer interest and the Sorento set to arrive shortly, Kia is looking to maintain its sales momentum through the remainder of 2026.
