Kia to launch Sorento 7-seater by the end of next financial year New Syros EV to arrive in first half of 2026 New-gen Seltos prices to release on January 2, 2026
Kia will release the prices of the new-gen Seltos SUV on January 2, 2026. Interested customers can book the SUV online or at authorised dealerships at Rs 25,000, while deliveries are being promised to commence from mid-January 2026. The Korean brand will also launch two new SUVs, the Sorento and the Syros EV in the FY26-27.
Kia has started testing the new Sorento 7-seater SUV in India for the first time. It is expected to be offered as a 3-row hybrid SUV, as Kia is preparing Sorento hybrid. This SUV will take on the likes of the Mahindra XUV 7XO and the Tata Safari. The new SUV will go on sale in the end of 2026. The SUV measures 4815mm in length, 1900mm in width and 1700mm in height, and it has a wheelbase of 2815mm.
The cabin will have similarities with the global Kia SUVs. It will have dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and driver’s screen, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, powered tailgate with gesture control, a 360-degree surround view camera and a head-up display (HUD).
In the European markets, the Kia Sorento is offered with 3 engine choices - a 238hp, 1.6L turbo-petrol hybrid, a 288hp, 1.6L turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid
and a 2.2-litre diesel hybrid. The petrol engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the diesel version gets an 8-speed DCT. Power is transmitted to all-4 wheels via Kia’s all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup.

Kia will launch the new Syros EV by mid-2026, most probably around June-July. It will be sold alongside the Kia Syros ICE version. We expect the new Syros EV to cost somewhere between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 18 lakh, ex-showroom. The electric SUV will look largely identical to the regular ICE counterparts, except for the few EV-specific changes. It will have a blanked-off front profile, Neo or lime green colour brake callipers and front-fender mounted charging port.
In terms of features, the Syros EV will have dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation, ventilated front and rear seats, powered driver’s seat, reclining and sliding 2nd row seats, a panoramic sunroof, LEVEL-2 ADAS and a 360-degree surround view camera.
The new Kia Syros EV is likely to be based on the K1 platform that underpins the Hyundai Inster EV. It will be a front-wheel-drive SUV. The electric SUV could borrow the Hyundai EV’s 42kWh and 49kWh battery pack options. We expect the new Syros electric to offer a certified range of up to 400km on a single charge.
