2027 Hyundai Creta Could Get These 5 Big Upgrades Over the Current Model

New K3 platform and larger dimensions Redesigned exterior and premium cabin Strong hybrid engine could join the lineup

Hyundai is working on the next-generation Creta, which is expected to arrive in India around mid-2027. The upcoming model has recently been spotted testing in Manali, revealing several changes to its exterior design. It is expected to receive major updates to its platform, cabin, features and powertrain, making it a significant upgrade over the current SUV. The new Creta, internally codenamed SX3, is likely to be based on Hyundai's K3 platform, which is also used by the latest Kia Seltos. Here are five major upgrades expected on the 2027 Hyundai Creta.

1. Bigger Dimensions and New Platform

The next-generation Hyundai Creta is expected to be larger than the current model. The new K3 platform could help improve cabin space and offer better room for passengers. The SUV is also likely to get a more upright stance and a revised overall profile. These changes could give it a stronger road presence while making the cabin more spacious.

2. Completely New Exterior Design

The 2027 Creta is expected to receive a major design makeover. The test vehicle has revealed a boxier front grille with rectangular elements and a radar sensor positioned in the centre. It could also feature split headlamps, with LED daytime running lights positioned above the main headlight units. At the rear, the SUV is likely to get redesigned three-part LED tail-lamps. Other expected changes include new alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, revised ORVMs with camera pods and updated front and rear bumpers.

3. More Premium Interior With Bigger Screens

The cabin is expected to receive a complete redesign with a cleaner and more premium layout. The international test vehicle has already hinted at a large infotainment display, while the India-spec model could get Hyundai's Pleos Connect system. The SUV is also likely to feature a slim digital driver's display and an updated dashboard design. More technology and improved cabin materials could make the next-generation Creta feel more premium than the current model.

4. New Strong Hybrid Powertrain

One of the biggest changes could be the introduction of a strong hybrid powertrain. The new Creta is expected to get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol-based hybrid system, potentially shared with the next-generation Kia Seltos. Alongside the hybrid option, Hyundai is likely to continue offering the existing petrol and diesel engines. These include the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units. Manual and automatic gearbox options are also expected to continue, although the final engine and transmission details will be confirmed closer to launch.

5. More Technology and Safety Features

The next-generation Creta could receive additional technology and safety upgrades. The test vehicle's radar sensor suggests that advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are likely to remain part of the package. The SUV could also get a 360-degree camera system, updated parking sensors and improved connected-car technology. Hyundai may introduce more convenience features to keep the Creta competitive against newer rivals.
