Next-Gen Hyundai Creta Takes Shape: Cleaner Styling and Pleos Connect Tech
Next-gen Creta launch in early 2027 Based on new K3 platform
The next-gen Hyundai Creta is currently undergoing rigorous testing in India as well as in Europe and the United States of America. In fact, the SUV has started loosing camouflage and the lightly camouflaged pre-production prototypes of Hyundai’s next-gen Creta have been spotted undergoing high-altitude road tests in Europe. The same model will also be sold as the next-gen Kona in select markets.
The fresh spy imagery offers a clearer look at the vehicle’s updated proportions, signalling a departure from polarising styling toward a more mature, upright, and traditional SUV silhouette. The SUV’s design seems inspired by the Hyundai Crater concept.
Exterior Styling
The prototype previews a new front profile featuring a thicker illuminated upper light bar above mid-mounted headlights. The bumper houses an active shutter grilles and a lower front splitter that adds to its aerodynamic character. Instead of heavy body cladding, the next-gen Hyundai Creta will have a smooth, sculpted body panels and flush-fitting door handles. It comes with an upward-sweeping belt line, sharp A-pillars, and aerodynamically styled alloy wheels, and a flatter roofline that adds to its boxier styling.
At the back, the SUV will have a wider and simpler design. It gets a wider, flatter tailgate, angular roof spoiler, mid-mounted LED light elements and an all-new bumper that hopes the new exhaust pipe.
Interior: Pleos Connect Ecosystem
The interior spy shots reveal that the SUV will have a clean dash layout dominated by a large tablet-style floating touchscreen running Hyundai’s new Android-based Pleos Connect infotainment system. The SUV will come with a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, powered Bose mode function, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, connected car tech, a digital instrument console and an Augmented-Reality Heads-Up Display or HUD. It will be based on the new K3 platform, which promises an expanded wheelbase to offer improved space in the second-row and bigger boot space.
Powertrains: Multi-powertrain strategy
Engine Options: the next-gen Hyundai Creta will retain the existing 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol, 1.5L U2 CRDi diesel and 1.5L turbo petrol engines. The SUV is also expected to get a new hybrid engine, which is likely to utilise the 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol engine, an electric motor and a small battery pack. This model is expected to offer a fuel efficiency in excess of 25kmpl. Gearbox options will include a 6-speed manual, CVT, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DCT depending on the powertrain.
