Volkswagen has revealed the first official images of the Virtus facelift. The sedan gets new alloys, revised bumpers and a fresh blue shade. The updated model is set to launch in December 2026.
Volkswagen India has revealed the updated Virtus ahead of its launch in December 2026. The company has shared the first official images of the facelifted sedan, showing a few changes to its exterior design. The updated model gets a revised front bumper, new black alloy wheels and red brake calipers on the GT variant. Volkswagen is expected to reveal the interior and updated feature list in the coming days.
The facelift brings a few changes to the front design. It gets a new mesh pattern on the front bumper, along with smaller fog lamp housings. The headlamp units appear unchanged and continue to feature integrated LED daytime running lights. The official images show the top-spec GT variant, which gets new black alloy wheels and red brake calipers at the front. The GT badges are also visible on the grille and front doors. Volkswagen has also introduced a new blue colour option. The updated sedan gets a dual-tone finish, with the roof, ORVMs and lip spoiler finished in black. At the rear, the Virtus facelift features smoked tail-lamps, a revised bumper and a boot-mounted lip spoiler. Overall, these changes give the sedan a slightly sportier look.

Volkswagen has not revealed the cabin yet. However, the facelift is expected to receive some feature updates along with a few changes to the interior. The top-spec GT variant shown in the images gets a 360-degree camera. The company is also expected to update the air-conditioning system with a revised compressor. More details about the cabin, infotainment system and other features are likely to be announced before the launch.
Volkswagen has not shared details about the mechanical changes. The updated Virtus is expected to continue with the existing 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engines. The 1.0-litre TSI engine could get a new eight-speed automatic gearbox, similar to the updated Skoda Slavia. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre TSI engine is expected to continue with the seven-speed DSG gearbox.
The updated Volkswagen Virtus is scheduled to launch in India in December 2026. The company is expected to share more details about its features, interior and price closer to the launch. After its launch, the sedan will continue to compete with the Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna and Honda City in the midsize sedan segment.
