Virtus facelift launch likely in November-December 2026 1.0L TSI engine will get an 8-speed torque converter automatic
Volkswagen has released a new teaser of the Virtus facelift ahead of its official launch sometime in late November or early December 2026. The updated model will receive refreshed exterior design while retaining its familiar silhouette. While the teaser hasn’t revealed much, it hints at an updated lighting system and subtle design changes.

The teaser gives us a closer look at the exterior changes, including the revised front and rear lighting elements. At the front, the Virtus facelift gets a redesigned LED headlamps with multiple lighting elements and a revised LED daytime running lamp signature. There is a slim light strip running across the grille connecting the headlamps, and also houses an illuminated Volkswagen logo.
There is a prominent GT Badge placed on the grille, while the lower bumper appears sportier with new air inlets. The side profile looks largely identical to the existing model, except for the new alloy wheels. The sedan retains the sporty stance, featuring long bonnet and sloping roofline.
At the back, the sedan gets revised LED tail-lamps with a more angular design and new bumper. However, the tailgate design remains largely identical to the
existing model.
The Volkswagen Virtus facelift will come with changes similar to the one offered on the Skoda Slavia facelift. It comes with a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with an updated interface, a 10-inch digital instrument console, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, a single-pane sunroof, and additional connected-car features.
Volkswagen is also expected to offer additional convenience features such as an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, improved ambient lighting, rear seat massaging function, front parking sensors, and others. It will come with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, traction control, a reverse parking camera and others as standard.
The sedan is expected to be offered with two turbo-petrol engine options, including a 1.0-litre TSI and the 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol. While the former is good for 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque, the 1.5L turbo unit produces 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque.
The 1.0L TSI unit will get an 8-speed gearbox instead of the current 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The 1.5L turbo unit will also a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The VW Virtus facelift is likely to be launched sometime in late November or December 2026. We expect the new sedan could be priced somewhere around Rs 12 lakh - 20 lakh, ex-showroom. It will directly rival the likes of the Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna and Honda City in the midsize sedan segment.
