Volkswagen is getting ready to show the new ID. Tiguan in early October. It will be the electric version of the popular Tiguan SUV. The new EV is expected to go on sale in global markets from early 2027. The electric Tiguan will be sold alongside the regular Tiguan. The petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid versions of the existing SUV will continue to be available.
New Electric Tiguan Gets a Fresh Design
The new Volkswagen ID. Tiguan will get a completely new design. Volkswagen says the electric SUV will have a strong road presence and could look bigger and more premium than its size suggests. The production version is currently being tested with camouflage. Volkswagen has not yet shared full details about the car. The company is expected to reveal more information about its battery, range, motor and other features at the global debut in October.

Volkswagen will continue to sell the regular Tiguan even after the electric model arrives. The existing SUV will continue with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid engine options. This will give customers a choice between the regular Tiguan and the new electric version. The move also shows Volkswagen's plan to offer both electric and traditional powertrains in its SUV range.
ID. Tiguan Launch Expected in 2027
The new Volkswagen ID. Tiguan will make its global debut in October, while sales are expected to start in early 2027. The new electric SUV will also take the place of the ID.4 and ID.5 in Volkswagen's future EV line-up.
