Volkswagen ID Cross offers up to 436km range. Gets dual battery options and fast charging support. Global launch expected later this year.
Volkswagen has revealed fresh details about its upcoming electric SUV, the Volkswagen ID Cross, ahead of its global launch. The model was first showcased as a concept and is expected to hit international markets between September and November 2026.
The ID Cross will serve as an electric alternative to the T-Cross sold in global markets.
The Volkswagen ID Cross Electric SUV will come with two battery options.
The first is a 37kWh battery pack, available in two power outputs - 116hp and 135hp. The second is a 52kWh battery pack, which produces 211hp.
In terms of range, the smaller battery offers up to 316km, while the larger one can deliver up to 436km (WLTP).

The SUV produces up to 290Nm of torque. The top speed is rated at 150 kmph for the smaller battery and 160 kmph for the larger battery version.
For charging, the 37kWh variant supports 90kW DC fast charging, while the 52kWh version supports up to 105kW.
A 10 to 80 percent charge takes about 27 minutes for the smaller battery and 24 minutes for the bigger one. It also supports up to 11kW AC charging.
The Volkswagen ID Cross is based on the MEB+ platform, which will underpin future EVs from the brand.
It measures 4,153mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,601mm. The SUV offers 475 litres of boot space along with a 22-litre frunk.
While the car is still under camouflage, key design elements are visible.
The SUV gets LED headlamps and DRLs, along with LED tail lamps and a sporty bumper design. Higher variants will feature matrix LED headlamps and illuminated logos.
It will also be offered with 17 to 20-inch alloy wheels and functional roof rails.

Inside, the Volkswagen ID Cross Electric SUV gets a modern and clean cabin layout.
It features a 10.25-inch digital driver display and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Other features include dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, rear-view camera and keyless entry.
Optional features include a Harman Kardon sound system, powered seats with massage function, wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof.
The Volkswagen ID Cross Electric SUV is expected to launch globally later this year. However, its India launch has not been confirmed yet.
