Honda ZR-V

The Honda ZR-V is the first hybrid SUV and the new flagship offering from the Japanese automaker in India. Within a few weeks of its official launch, the first two batches of the SUV, comprising nearly 160 units, have been sold out. Deliveries of these units have been commenced, while the launch timeline of the third batch is yet to be announced.

Honda ZR-V Price

Honda has brought the ZR-V in India as a fully imported unit from Japan. The hybrid SUV is available in a single, fully-loaded variant at an introductory price of ₹47.99 Lakhs* (ex-showroom).

Key Features of ZR-V

The Honda ZR-V features a sporty front fascia, with an octagonal grille with vertical and horizontal slats, slim LED headlamps with L-shaped DRLs (daytime running lamps) and bumper with functional air vents and black lower portion. Moving to the sides, the SUV features 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and coloured cladding on the wheel arches. At the back, it sports LED tail-lamps, dual-tone black and silver bumper, a roof-mounted spoiler, ZR-V and e:HEV badging and dual exhaust tips in chrome finish.

The SUV lineup is available in four colour options: Platinum White Pearl, Twilight Mist Black Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic Crystal Black Pearl.

Inside, the SUV offers a sporty all-black theme with soft-touch materials. The SUV comes equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Other key features include a wireless charger, an 8-way powered driver’s seat with memory, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a 4-way powered front passenger seat, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting and an electric tailgate with gesture control. Unlike most of its rivals, the ZR-V misses out on the ventilated, heated and massaging front seats and a panoramic sunroof.

For the safety provision, the new Honda hybrid SUV offers 8 airbags, traction control, a 360-degree parking camera, hill-start and hill-descent assist functions, Level 2 ADAS, and Isofix child-seat mounts.

Engine Specifications

The Honda ZR-V features a strong-hybrid petrol powertrain comprising a 2.0-litre four-cylinder direct-injection petrol engine paired with two permanent magnet synchronous electric motors. This setup delivers a combined output of 184hp and 315Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via an e-CVT gearbo. The ZR-V is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 7.9 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 172kph.

Mileage

Honda claims that the ZR-V delivers a fuel efficiency of 22.8kmpl.

Dimensions and Boot Space

The new Honda hybrid SUV measures 4,567mm in length, 1,840mm in width and 1,621mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,655 and a ground clearance of 180mm. The SUV offers a boot space of 380-litres, which can be expanded up to 1,313-litres by folding the rear seats.

Competition

In terms of pricing, the Honda ZR-V directly rivals the Skoda Kodiaq and the Volkswagen Tayron in the Indian market.
