Honda 0 Alpha

Honda aims to strengthen its presence in the Indian market with an aggressive product strategy. The plan outlines six new model launches by FY2026-27, including the City facelift (already launched) and the soon-to-be-launched ZR-V hybrid SUV. The Japanese automaker has also confirmed its entry into the EV (electric vehicle) segment with the production-ready Honda 0 Alpha electric SUV.

Honda 0 Alpha Launch Date

Honda Cars India has confirmed the 0 Alpha EV launch for the current financial year (i.e. by March 2027). The EV will be manufactured at the carmaker’s Tapukara facility in Rajasthan. For this project, Honda has announced a huge investment of around Rs 1,200 crore.  

Honda 0 Alpha EV Expected Price in India

The upcoming Honda electric SUV is expected to be priced from ₹18.00 Lakhs* for the base variant to Rs ₹24.00 Lakhs* for the top trim.

Key Features

The Honda 0 Alpha EV SUV first broke cover in its concept form at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The model shares Honda’s ‘Thin, Light and Wise’ design language with the larger Honda 0 SUV, which was unveiled at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, United States.

This design philosophy focuses on reducing bulk, lowering weight for achieving efficiency and agility and using intelligent engineering to maximize overall vehicle performance. The 0 Alpha concept features an upright stance with an MPV-ish thick C-pillar, a sharply raked front and vertical rear windscreens.

Upfront, the EV sports a blacked-out grille with an illuminated Honda logo, sleek and thin connected headlamps and a charging port. Other design highlights include aero-optimized 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, pronounced wheel arches, U-shaped taillamps framed in rear windscreen and massive faux bash plate on the rear bumper with smaller light elements.

Interior is still a mystery to us. However, Honda has confirmed that the 0 Alpha will have a wheelbase ranging between 2,700-2,800mm, offering a maximize cabin space. The upright tailgate also suggests generous passanger and boot space.

Engine Specifications

Honda Cars India is yet to reveal the powertrain specifications of the 0 Alpha. According to reports, the EV SUV is expected to be offered with two LFP battery pack options ranging from 65kWh to 75kWh. The carmaker might initially introduce the EV with a single motor and FWD setup.

The EV is currently under in its testing phase, and is being accessed across different terrain and climate conditions. It will also be evaluated for charging performance, usability and overall practicality.

Competition

In the midsize EV SUV segment, the Honda 0 Alpha will face challenge from the Maruti Suzuki eVitara, Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV.
