MG ZS EV

The MG ZS EV is the company’s only electric vehicle offering in India that debuted at the start of 2020. The ZS EV is an electric SUV that's designed for city driving. Since it was first launched, it has received two minor facelifts. 

These updates have mostly been cosmetic, but the latest version of the ZS EV comes with a bigger battery pack, which means it can travel further on a single charge. Built on a modular chassis, the 2023 MG ZS EV spawns electric, hybrid and ICE counterparts in the international market. 

MG ZS EV: Exterior

The MG ZS EV exterior design is dynamic with distinct EV cues. Upfront the SUV features a large blanked off grille with the celestial pattern that houses a new charging port and a camera. The grille is flanked by new LED headlight units that house eyebrow shaped LED DRLs.

Lower down there is a new design for the large air dam along with a chrome lining. There is a new drooping nose design that is reminiscent of the typical ZS EV. 

Towards the sides, MG ZS EV a new characteristic lines that originate from the front fender and blend into the tail lights. The window line sharply kinks behind the c-pillar along with a bulge in the rear fender that adds to the muscular appeal of the SUV.

Towards the rear, one can notice new design wrap around LED tail lamps along with a faux diffuser. Overall, the MG ZS EV design is quite modern and upmarket.  

MG ZS EV: Interior and Features

Interior: The New MG ZS EVs interior is mainstream with its simple dashboard design that it shares with the MG Astor SUV. The four-wheeler offers a commanding driving position with a large glass area all around that enhances an airy feeling on the inside. 

Features: ZS EV interior is a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and i-SMART connect. In addition, the car also gets new equipment like a panoramic sunroof, 8-inch full digital instrument cluster and buttons on the central tunnel to control the regeneration of the EV.

Safety: The 2023 ZS EV prioritizes safety with its range of features, including 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, 360-degree camera with sensors, TPMS, electronic parking brake, hill-descent control, hill-start assist, ESC, and other essential equipment. 

The car also includes ADAS technology, which comprises Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, and rear cross traffic alert, among other features.

MG ZS EV: Price and Variants

MG ZS EV price in India starts from Rs 23.38 lakh and extends to Rs 27.40 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in a total of 3 variants. The model is available in Excite and Exclusive trims.

MG ZS EV: Engine and Specification

In terms of powertrain, the MG ZS EV comes equipped with one battery pack option. The long-range battery pack is among the largest available in this segment. The 50.3 kWh unit is paired to a Permanent Magnet Synchronous motor that produces 175 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque. The system is capable of accepting 50 kW fast charging that puts back 80 percent of the range in just 60 minutes. 

The MG ZS EV measures 4,323mm in length, is 1,809mm wide and 1,649mm tall having a wheelbase of 2,585mm. The car gets a large 470-litre boot and 17-inch aero profile alloy wheels.

MG ZS EV: Mileage

The 2023 MG ZS EV returns a claimed range of up to 461 kilometres on a single full charge.

MG ZS EV: Colour Options

There are 4 distinct single tone exterior colour options available on the MG ZS EV. They include Candy White, Glaze Red, Aurora Silver and Starry Black. In addition, the top-spec Exclusive trim is available with the choice of either a Dark Grey or dual-tone iconic Ivory interior colour theme.
