MG Motor is gearing up to launch its new electric roadster, the MG Cyberster, in India. The stylish two-door EV has started arriving at MG Select dealerships, hinting at an official launch expected in the first week of July 2025.
Let’s read more about the world’s fastest MG Roadster:
MG Cyberster will be the first car introduced under MG Motor’s new “Select” programme, which focuses on bringing fully-imported (CBU) models to India. The brand had unveiled this initiative last year to offer more premium and global EV models to Indian customers.
The Cyberster made its international debut in 2023 and was showcased earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Expo, grabbing a lot of attention with its convertible design and futuristic features.
Pre-bookings for the Cyberster began in March 2025. Interested buyers can reserve the car by paying a token amount of Rs 51,000, either via MG’s official website or at MG Select showrooms across India.
Recently, a red-coloured MG Cyberster was seen being unloaded at a dealership, confirming that the model has officially reached Indian shores. Its sporty design is inspired by the classic MG B Roadster from the 1960s, but modernised with aerodynamic curves and a sleek convertible silhouette.
Key design elements include:
- 20-inch alloy wheels (AWD)
- Retractable soft-top roof
- Arrowhead LED DRLs
- Full-width rear light bar
- Active rear spoiler for better aerodynamics
Inside, the MG Cyberster is packed with premium tech and futuristic vibes. The driver-centric cabin includes:
- Triple-screen dashboard
- AR Head-Up Display
- AI-powered voice assistant
- BOSE 8-speaker sound system
- Ambient lighting
- Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
- Heated and ventilated bucket seats
- Vegan leather upholstery with contrast stitching
In terms of safety, the EV gets:
- 6 airbags
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
- Traction Control
- Hill Hold and Descent Assist
- 360-degree camera
- Level 2 ADAS with Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, AEB, and more
The top-spec Cyberster AWD variant comes with:
- Dual oil-cooled motors (front and rear)
- 77kWh battery
- 510bhp and 725Nm torque
- 0–100kmph in just 3.2 seconds
- Claimed range of 580km (CLTC)
- Top speed over 210kmph
- Four drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, Track (AWD only)
The global RWD variant is also expected later, with 308bhp, 475Nm torque, and 0–100kmph in 5 seconds.
Charging the Cyberster is quick and convenient:
- AC charging (full charge): 7 hours
- DC fast charging (10% to 80%): 35 minutes
- Also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) to power other devices on the go
With Cyberster units arriving at showrooms and bookings already open, MG is expected to announce prices and launch officially in early July 2025. Once launched, the MG Cyberster will become one of the most exciting new EVs in India’s premium segment.
