MG has officially confirmed the arrival of its all-new electric SUV, the MG S5 EV. It is set to debut later this year. This upcoming MG car is expected to replace the ageing ZS EV in the UK market, bringing a fresh design and advanced technology to MG’s electric lineup.
Built on the Modular Scalable Platform (MSP)—the same architecture that underpins the MG4 hatchback—the MG S5 EV promises improved efficiency, enhanced driving dynamics, and a more spacious interior.
While MG has yet to officially announce the launch or pricing of the MG S5 EV in India, it is expected to be a strong contender in the electric SUV segment, potentially replacing the current ZS EV. Based on market trends and competitor pricing, the MG S5 EV is anticipated to be priced around Rs. 27 lakh.
Once launched, it will go head-to-head with rivals like the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and other upcoming electric SUVs in India. With an advanced platform and modern features, the MG S5 EV could be a game-changer in the growing EV market.
Dimensionally, the S5 EV measures 4.4 meters in length, 1.8 meters in width, and 1.6 meters in height. It features a split-type lighting setup at the front, while the rear has an LED tail light that spans the width of the vehicle. The side profile includes conventional door handles, black-finished ORVMs, and silver roof rails.
Inside, the MG S5 EV comes with a beige interior theme and a panoramic sunroof. The cabin layout is minimalistic with practical storage spaces and cupholders.
For features, the car is expected to include a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and heated and ventilated leather seats.
MG S5 EV is expected to come with a 62kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 515-525 km, depending on the variant. It will also feature vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, allowing it to supply power to external devices.
