MG Hector Plus Overview
MG Hector Plus is a 3-row compact SUV that is based on the standard Hector model. First launched in 2020, the car is available with both 6 and 7-seater configuration. More recently at the 2023 Auto Expo, the company launched the updated model of the Hector Plus with more features and an SUV-like design.
MG Hector Plus: Exterior
Compared to the older model, the New MG Hector Plus’s exterior design features a more SUV-ish look with a flatter bonnet and larger grille. Similar to the 2023 Hector, the new Hector Plus replaces the celestial grille with a new argyle-inspired diamond mesh grill that blends well into the air dam.
Except for the grille and the flatter bonnet the car maintains its overall design with the familiar step in the window line behind the C-pillar and the 18-inch alloy wheel design.
MG Hector Plus: Interior and Features
Interior: Like the Hector, the New MG Hector Plus’s interior exudes a sense of premiumness with its new vertical dashboard design and use of soft touch material. There is a new Argil Brown and Black dual tone colour theme on the inside.
Features: Hector Plus Features a large 14-inch portrait touchscreen infotainment unit is carried forward to the larger model along with features like a large panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, digital instrument cluster, 8-colour ambient lighting, a power adjustable driver’s seat, wireless charger and more.
Safety: In terms of safety, the 2023 Hector Plus gets 6-airbags, ABS, a 360-degree camera with parking sensors, all-4 disk brakes, TPMS, e-parking brake and more basic equipment.
The Hector Plus, like its smaller sibling, is equipped with a level-2 ADAS system that provides over 11 functions, such as Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Auto High-Beam Control, and auto emergency braking, among others.
MG Hector Plus: Price and Variants
MG Hector Plus price in India starts from Rs 17.00 lakh and extends to Rs 22.68 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in a total of 13 variants. The model is available in Smart, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro trims with two engine options.
MG Hector Plus: Engine and Specification
In terms of powertrain, the MG Hector Plus comes equipped with the familiar 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine option. The former produces 140 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque, while the latter is rated for 170 bhp with 350 Nm of peak torque. Both engines come mated to either a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic (petrol only) transmission option.
The MG Hector Plus measures 4,699mm in length, is 1,835mm wide and 1,760mm tall having a wheelbase of 2,750mm. The car gets a large 60-litre fuel tank and up to 18-inch alloy wheels.
