MG Hector Hawk Price in India
JSW MG Motor India is all set to expand its product lineup with six exciting new passenger vehicles launching within next 12-16 months. The next big launch will be an all-new SUV, which will also be the brand's first plug-in hybrid model. This SUV will also get an EV derivative. Codenamed '520', the new MG SUV is rumoured to be called the Hector Hawk and is expected to be based on the Wuling Starlight 560 on sale in select international markets. The new MG Hector Hawk will also mark the debut of the brand's new ADAPT modular platform, which is compatible with hybrid, plug-in hybrid and EV powertrains.
The new Hector Hawk is scheduled to be revealed on August 26, while its sales are expected to begin around September-October 2026.
MG's Hector Hawk will be marketed as a mass-market plug-in hybrid vehicle, and it is expected to be priced at ₹20.59 Lakhs* for the base variant and ₹24.00 Lakhs* for the top-end variant.
The MG Hector Hawk is expected to carry the same design as the Chinese-spec Wuling Starlight 560, except for the 'MG' badging inside and out. Featuring a boxy shape, the new SUV gets an upright stance with a large blacked-out grille, LED headlamps with LED daytime running light strips running above and below them and a sporty lower bumper with a pronounced skid plate. The EV will look similar to the PHEV, but it will have a closed-off front grille and differently styled aero-optimised alloy wheels.
The SUV is expected to feature 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, pronounced cladding on the lower sections, and squared-off wheel arches. At the back, the SUV gets a slightly MPV-ish look with a flatter tailgate, a roof-mounted spoiler and LED taillights. In terms of proportions, the SUV is 4745mm in length, 1850mm in width and 1755mm in height.
The MG Hector Hawk is expected to be offered in 6-seat and 7-seat layouts, with the former having captain seats in the second-row. Key features will include a 12.8-inch central touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8.8-inch digital instrument console, a dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a two-spoke steering wheel, a 6-speaker premium audio system, multi-colour ambient lighting and others.
For safety and security, the SUV will get six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control, hill start and descent control, and others as standard. It will also get LEVEL 2 ADAS tech with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, blind spot monitoring and others.
The Plug-in Hybrid version of the Hector Hawk will feature a 106hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine, paired with a 20.5 kWh battery pack and a front-axle-mounted electric motor. This powertrain offers a combined power and torque output of 197bhp and 230Nm, respectively. The global-spec model is claimed to offer a pure EV range of 100-125km and a total range of 1,100km (CLTC). It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph acceleration in 9.7 seconds before hitting an electronically controlled top-speed of 170kmph.
The Hector Hawk EV will get a 69.3 kWh battery pack paired with a front-axle-mounted electric motor, and offers a claimed range of 530 km on a single charge.
The Hector Hawk PHEV will be positioned against the likes of the Mahindra XUV 7XO, while the electric SUV will take on the Mahindra XEV 9S.
