MG Hector Tomhawk will be a 7-seater Electric SUV Bookings Open at Rs 21,000 Launch date is August 26, 2026
JSW MG Motor India has released a new teaser of its upcoming new SUV, revealing its design and interior details. The teaser also mark the beginning of pre-bookings for the new SUV, likely to be called the Hector Tomahawk. In the latest teaser, the SUV can be seen standing next to a Curtiss P-40 Tomahawk World War II fighter aircraft. Adding to that, the company has trademarked the name Hector Tomahawk in the country.
It will be the brand’s new 7-seater electric model, and will be the first to mark the debut of the new ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) platform. This new fully electric model will be positioned above the MG ZS EV in the brand’s line-up in India.

The new Hector Tomahawk will be a three-row SUV, and is scheduled to be launched on August 26, 2026. Interested customers can pre-book the new MG 7-seater electric SUV online or at authorised dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000.
The official teaser gives us the glimpse at the Hector Tomahawk exteriors, which is similar to the Indonesia-spec Wuling Eksion 7-seater. The teaser confirms that the SUV will have rectangular LED headlamps, and twin-element LED daytime running lights at the front and rear. It has dual-tone alloy wheels, black plastic cladding under the doors, pronounced front fenders, prominent roof rails, wraparound LED tail-lamps and pull-type door handles.

The SUV gets a chrome garnish on the windowline and a flat roof. The charging port is placed on the rear-left side. Compared to the Eksion, the Hector Tomahawk will have a different C-pillar design elements and a different finish on the front grille.
The MG Hector Tomahawk is expected to carry similar dimensions as the Indonesian-spec Eksion SUV. It measures 4745mm in length, 1850mm in width, 1755mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2810mm.

The teaser confirms that the upcoming Hector Tomahawk will be a 7-seater electric SUV with bench-type seats in second row. It comes with a beige colour scheme for the cabin. Also visible is a huge panoramic sunroof, covering the entire length of the roof. The SUV is expected to share its equipment with the Wuling Eksion EV. The MG 7-seater electric SUV is likely to get a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and an 8.8-inch digital instrument console.
In terms of features, the SUV will get powered tailgate, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, a 360-degree surround view camera, six airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite.
The MG Hector Tomahawk will first arrive as a pure electric SUV. Its Plug-in Hybrid version will be launched at a later date. The EV is expected to be packed with a single front-axle-mounted electric motor offering 201hp and 310Nm. It is claimed to achieve an electronically limited top speed of 160kph. The EV is packed with a 69.2 kWh LFP battery pack, and is claimed to offer a CLTC range of up to 530km on a single charge.
The plug-in hybrid version is packed with a 1.5-litre petrol engine combined with a 20.5 kWh battery pack and an electric motor. The setup offers a combined power and torque output of 195 hp and 230 Nm, respectively. It is claimed to offer an all-electric range of 125 km, and a total range of over 1000km on a full tank and a full battery.
The 7-seater electric SUV will sit above the ZS EV in the company’s line-up in India. We expect the new Hector Tomahawk EV to price between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 26 lakh, ex-showroom. It will directly rival the Mahindra XEV 9S, VinFast VF MPV 7 and the Kia Carens Clavis EV.
