Kia Sorento Launch Date

Kia is yet to announce the exact launch date for the new Sorento 3-row SUV in India. We expect the new Kia Sorento to launch before the end of next financial year, by March 2027.

Kia is likely to introduce the new Sorento as a CKD or CBU model in India. We expect the new Kia Sorento 7-seater to come in a single variant, which is likely to be priced at Rs ₹30.00 Lakhs*, ex-showroom.

Safety Features of Sorento

For safety and security, the Kia Sorento gets Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Multi-Collision Braking (MCB) system, six airbags, front & rear parking sensors, and Tyre pressure monitoring system. The ADAS tech will offer adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane follow assist, auto high beam and others. 

Engine Options

In the global markets, the Kia Sorento is available with 3 engine options - a 238PS, 1.6L turbo petrol hybrid, a 288PS, 1.6L turbo-petrol plug-in hybrid and a 2.2L diesel hybrid. The petrol engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the diesel is paired with an 8-speed DCT. All comes with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. The India-spec model could get the 1.6L hybrid engine. 

Dimensions and Boot Space

In terms of proportions, the new Sorento is 4,815mm in length, 1900mm in width and 1700mm in height. The SUV has a wheelbase of 2815mm, which is 70mm longer than the Fortuner. In the 7-seater configuration, the Kia Sorento offers a boot space of around 175-185-litres. The boot space can be extended to 616-litres by folding the third-row seats. 

Competition

In the Indian market, the Kia Sorento will rival the Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq.
