The 5-door model has seating for 7 people. The second row has bench-type seats for 3 adults. The third row has two captain seats.

Both versions have a new 140 horsepower, 2.6-liter turbo diesel engine. This engine is more powerful and offers more torque than the old model.

Along with the 5-door model, Force Motors has also introduced the updated 3-door Gurkha lifestyle SUV. Both models have several comfort and convenience features as well as several off-road capabilities.

The SUV has many features. These include a fully digital instrument cluster and 18-inch wheels. It also has a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Additionally, there are mobile charging points, power windows, auto dimming IRVMs, and cornering lamps.

Design Highlights

The 2024 Force Gurkha 5-door & 3-door models retain the same boxy silhouette and also shares the styling cues. The SUV has a bold front design with a black grille, round LED headlights, and fog lights in the bumper." The ORVMs are on either side of the bonnet.

A factory-fitted snorkel enhances its water-wading capacity to 700mm. The lifestyle SUV rides on newly designed 10-spoke dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels.

The 5-door Gurkha significantly increases its wheelbase to accommodate a third row. You can access the third-row seats from the boot. The tailgate mounts a spare wheel. Also on offer is a ladder to access the roof.

The 3-door Gurkha has a wheelbase of 2,400mm, while the 5-door model has a wheelbase of 2,825mm. The 5-door model has a turning radius of 6.3m, which is 0.8m more than the 3-door sibling.

Force Gurkha Interior

The new Gurkha cabin has some new features, but the dashboard layout is the same as the older model. It comes with a large 3-spoke steering wheel, which is now adjustable for both reach and rake. However, the steering still misses out on volume buttons.

The big change comes in the form of a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 7-inch digital instrument console. The infotainment unit is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto & it also has an in-built Google Maps. The front seats come with foldable armrests.

The 5-door model comes with a bench-type second-row seat to accommodate three people. In case of two persons, there is a foldable armrest with cup holders. The third row has captain seats that you can access through the boot.

Safety Features

The new Force Gurkha comes with dual front airbags and an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic BrakeForce Distribution (EBD) as standard safety features. It also has high intensity full LED headlamps and a tyre pressure monitoring system. It misses out ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and an option of 6 airbags.

The new Gurkha is available in 3 variants - 3-door and 5-door. The 3-door MODEL costs Rs ₹15.10 Lakhs*, and the 5-door model costs Rs ₹17.27 Lakhs* (ex-showroom).

Engine Specifications

The new Gurkha has a 2.6-liter 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine sourced from Mercedes. It can produce up to 140PS of power and 320Nm of torque. The power and torque numbers significantly exceed those of the previous model, which had a rating of 91PS and 250Nm.

It misses out on the automatic gearbox option. The car transmits power to all-4 wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 4x4 system also comes with shift-on-the-fly capabilities. It also comes with manual front and rear differential lock, which further enhances its off-road abilities.

The SUV offers an impressive water wading capacity of 700mm. The SUV gets front disc brakes and drum brakes at the rear.

Force Gurkha Mileage

Force Motors has not released the fuel efficiency of the new Gurkha lifestyle SUV. However, several Users have reported that it gives a mileage of up to 12kmpl.

Competition Check

The new Gurkha competes against the segment-leader Mahindra Thar and the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. For people not in the know, the Thar will also receive a 5-door model in the near future.
