Honda Amaze Overview
Honda Amaze is an entry level sedan offering that is developed specifically for the Indian market. Honda launched the Brio hatchback in 2013. Since then, it has gone through two generations and many facelifts.
The Amaze was recently upgraded with a range of cosmetic changes. This brought the model's design in line with Honda's corporate identity. The 1.5-litre i-DTEC Earth Dreams diesel engine was discontinued in this update. This was done to comply with the new emission norms.
Honda Amaze: Exterior
Honda Amaze exterior design is in line with the company’s bigger cars like the Civic and the Accord. The front end features a horizontal, multi-slat grille that is flanked by swept back headlamp units with chrome detailing. Lower down there is a large air dam along with a spoiler like design for the bottom part of the bumper.
Amaze has a new design for the 15-inch diamond cut alloy-wheel. It also features a strong shoulder line that runs the length of the car. A new shark fin antenna is included.
The design at the rear of the 2023 model is the same as the last generation model. However, it has new C-shaped LED rear combination lamps.
Honda Amaze: Interior and Features
Interior: The New Amaze interior features a dual tone black and beige colour theme that exudes a sense of airiness. The dashboard provides piano-black surrounds along with an identical design to the last generation model.
Features: Equipment on offer include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, a multi-functional steering wheel, digital MID and more. Select models of the car also get cruise control, start-stop button and a spacious 420 litre boot space.
Safety: Honda Amaze car provides excellent safety features. These include dual front airbags, ISOFIX mounts, ABS with EBD, an engine immobiliser, a reverse camera, and sensors. All of these are basic equipment.
Honda Amaze: Price and Variants
Honda Amaze price in India starts from Rs 7.10 lakh and extends to Rs 9.71 lakh (ex-showroom). Models are available in 5 variants - E, S and VX trims with a choice of manual and automatic transmission.
Honda Amaze: Engine and Specification
Honda Amaze is equipped with an updated 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. This engine is known for its strong performance and superior efficiency. This unit comes mated to a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission option. The engine produces around 88 bhp and 110 Nm of torque.
The new 2023 Amaze measures 3,995mm in length, is 1,695mm wide and 1,498mm tall having a wheelbase of 2,470mm. The car gets a large 35-litre fuel tank and 15-inch alloy wheels.
