Tata Aeris

Tata Motors has launched the Aeris sub-compact sedan in India at a price tag of ₹5.30 Lakhs*, ex-showroom. It is basically the facelifted version of the Tigor compact sedan. The sub-4m sedan received Tiago facelift-like design and interior changes; however, the engine choices remain the same.

The Tata Aeris is available in 5 trim levels - Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished - and in total of 18 variants. The Aeris compact sedan price in India starts at ₹5.30 Lakhs* and extends up to ₹9.75 Lakhs*, ex-showroom, Pan India. 

Key Features of Tata Aeris

The Aeris sedan comes with a sharper design inspired by the smaller Tiago hatchback, featuring sleeker LED headlamps with eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lights, and a gloss black grille. Upfront is a black bumper that houses black elements with pixel-shaped LED fog lamps. The top-spec variant gets 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, while the lower spec and CNG variants get 14-inch wheels. It has slim cladding on the wheel arches, and chrome door handles. At the back, the sedan gets slim LED tail-lights connected via a red trim. 

The Tata Aeris comes with a lighter cabin theme, featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a free-standing semi-digital driver’s display, and a 2-spoke steering wheel with physical buttons. In terms of features, the sedan gets a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats and leatherette seat upholstery. The sedan also gets a DashCarm Recorder function, where the surround view camera works as a dashcam. For music lovers, the sedan has a 6-speaker sound system.

Safety Features

For safety and security, the Aeris gets six airbags as standard, a 360-degree surround view camera with a blind spot monitor, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold control, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and others. 

Engine Specifications

The new Tata Aeris is powered by the same 1.2-litre 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that is capable of producing 86 hp and 113 Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automated manual transmission or AMT. This engine also supports a factory-fitted CNG kit. In CNG mode, the power and torque output drops to 76 hp and 97 Nm, respectively. The CNG version also comes with both manual and AMT options.

Mileage

The Tata Aeris petrol delivers a mileage close to 20kmpl, and its AMT version delivers around 19-20kmpl. On the other hand, the Aeris CNG returns a fuel efficiency of around 28km per kg.

Dimensions and Boot Space

Dimensionally, the Tata Aeris is 3995mm long, 1684mm wide and 1532mm tall with a wheelbase of 2450mm. The sedan has an unladen ground clearance of 170mm. The petrol version offers a boot space of 419-litres, while its CNG version offers a usable boot space of 227-litres. 

Colours

The Tata Aeris is available in six colour options: Nitro Crimson, Pure Grey, Pristine White, Dandeli Drizzle, Daytona Grey and Dune Glow.

The Tata Aeris directly rivals the Hyundai Aura, Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze.
