2026 Tata Aeris Launched - Price, Variants, Features

Tata Motors has launched the new Aeris in India at an introductory starting price of Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned as the successor to the Tigor, the new compact sedan is available in five variants: Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Creative and Accomplished. Bookings for the 2026 Tata Aeris are now open, while deliveries are scheduled to begin on October 11, the first day of Navratri.

Tata Aeris Price and Variants

The Tata Aeris petrol-manual range starts at Rs 5.29 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The CNG variants are priced Rs 1 lakh higher than the corresponding petrol variants. The base Smart petrol-manual variant is priced at Rs 5.29 lakh, while the Pure variant costs Rs 6.14 lakh. The Pure Plus is priced at Rs 6.74 lakh, followed by the Creative at Rs 7.49 lakh and the top-spec Accomplished at Rs 8.19 lakh.

For CNG buyers, prices start at Rs 6.29 lakh for the Smart variant and go up to Rs 9.19 lakh for the Accomplished variant.

Tata has not yet announced the prices of the AMT versions. The automatic transmission will be offered with the Pure, Pure Plus, Creative and Accomplished variants. The starting price makes the Aeris Rs 40,000 more affordable than the outgoing Tigor's base XM variant.

Tata Aeris Gets a New Design

The new Tata Aeris carries forward the basic sedan shape of the Tigor but gets several design changes. At the front, it features a raised bonnet line, LED headlamps and eyebrow-style LED DRLs. The lighting setup is inspired by the updated Tiago, while the gloss-black grille gives the sedan a wider appearance.

The squared-off design also gives the Aeris a more planted stance. The side profile remains familiar, but Tata has added new 15-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the sedan gets new tail lamps with lighting elements extending onto the boot lid. The Aeris is available in six exterior colours: Dandeli Drizzle, Nitro Crimson, Dune Glow, Daytona Grey, Pure Grey and Pristine White.

Aeris Is Slightly Bigger Than the Tigor

The new Tata Aeris measures 3,995mm in length and 1,684mm in width. It has a 2,450mm wheelbase and 170mm of ground clearance. Compared to the Tigor, the Aeris is 2mm longer and 7mm wider, while the wheelbase and height remain unchanged.

The sedan offers 419 litres of boot space in its petrol version. Tata also claims best-in-segment approach, departure and ramp-over angles. The company says the Aeris offers the largest boot space among its key rivals in both petrol and CNG forms.

Tata Aeris Interior and Features

The Aeris gets a more modern cabin compared to the Tigor. One of its key features is front ventilated seats, which Tata says is a first in its segment. The sedan also gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. An integrated dashcam is also available.

Other features include a 360-degree surround-view camera, wireless charging, connected car technology, rear AC vents, a driver armrest and leatherette seats. The cabin gets a white-and-black colour theme. The automatic versions also get a new rotary AMT selector instead of the conventional gear lever. Paddle shifters are available for manual gear changes.

Petrol and CNG Engine Options

The Tata Aeris carries forward the Tigor's 1.2-litre petrol and CNG engine options. The petrol engine produces 86 PS and 113 Nm, while the CNG version develops 72.5 PS and 96.5 Nm. Both engines can be paired with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox. However, Tata is yet to announce the variant-wise pricing for the AMT versions. The company has also not revealed the official mileage figures for the Aeris yet.

For reference, the outgoing Tigor delivered a claimed 19.28kmpl with the petrol-manual and 19.6kmpl with the petrol-AMT. The CNG versions had claimed figures of 26.49kmpkg with the manual and 28.06kmpkg with the AMT. The CNG versions continue with Tata's twin-cylinder technology. The setup provides 70 litres of water capacity and supports direct CNG starting.

Tata Aeris Safety Features

Safety remains a key focus for the new sedan. The Tata Aeris gets six airbags as standard across the range. Other safety features include an integrated dashcam, surround-view system, tyre pressure monitoring system and blind-view monitoring. The sedan also gets torque vectoring by braking, rollover mitigation, hill-hold control and cornering stability control. The new Aeris has not yet been tested by Bharat NCAP. For reference, the outgoing Tigor received a four-star Global NCAP rating under the older testing protocol.

Tata Aeris Rivals

The new Tata Aeris will compete in the compact sedan segment against the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura. With a lower starting price than the outgoing Tigor, a long list of features and petrol and CNG options, the Aeris marks Tata Motors' latest update to its compact sedan lineup. Bookings are already open, with deliveries set to begin from October 11, 2026.
