Tata Avinya X concept was first showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, previewing an upcoming electric coupe-SUV. It could be the first model coming under Tata Motor’s premium EV brand umbrella. The carmaker has confirmed that the Avinya EV range will be based on the GEN 3 architecture, and will focus on a human centric design philosophy.
The official launch details of the Avinya X are yet to be announced. However, the all-electric coupe-SUV is expected to debut by the end of 2026 or early 2027. Tata Passenger Electric Mobility’s Plant at Sanand, Gujarat will serve as the production hub for the model.
With its futuristic design, advanced tech and long driving range, the Avinya X is estimated to be priced between Rs 40 lakh – Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom).
The production-ready Avinya X is likely to stay close to its concept version. However, it might receive some changes inside and out for enhanced practicality. The concept features an expanded ‘T’ logo at the front, gloss black finished bumpers, slim DRLs with Matrix technology and sharply raked front and rear windscreen Desing elements such as dual-tone alloy wheels, a contrasting C-pillar finish and an LED lighting signature at the rear further enhance its futuristic appearance.
Inside, the Tata Avinya X concept derives inspiration from the Range Rover SUV such as a floating central infotainment screen along with a new two-spoke steering wheel. It also includes a slim screen running across the dashboard, serving as the instrument console. Similar to the concept, the production-ready version could be offered a lounge-like 4-seater configuration along with the use of sustainable materials.
In terms of features, the new Tata premium EV is expected to offer a 360-degree camera, ADAS (autonomous driver assistance system) suite, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone auto AC, a wireless phone charger, In-car connectivity suite, ventilated seats, premium audio system, V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) functionalities and many more.
Battery specifications, range and performance figures are yet to be officially revealed. However, the Tata Avinya X is expected to feature a large battery pack with a claimed driving range of over 500km per charge. The EV will come with fast-charging capabilities. Given its scalable architecture, multiple battery pack options could be offered.
With its premium pricing and positioning, the Avinya X is expected to compete with models such as the BMW iX1, BYD Sealion, higher variants of the BYD Atto 3 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
