Citroen C5 Aircross

Citroen C5 Aircross is a premium SUV and the flagship model offered by the French brand in India. First showcased at the Shangai Auto Show in 2015, the production version of the new model was launched internationally at the start of 2017, while the India debut took place at the start of 2021.

Currently in its first generation, the New C5 Aircross is based on the PSA EMP2 platform and has received a facelift at the end of 2022 that introduced some much needed styling updates to the model.

Design Highlights

The exterior design of the New C5 Aircross is typical Citroen with its characterful design elements. The front end is characterized by the large double-chevron logo that sits in the middle of the grille.

The new headlamp unit replaces the split setup from the last generation model and adds a sporty touch to the SUV. Lower down, we see a new sculpted bumper along with a large air-dam and a silver skid plate.

Moving to the sides, it offers new 18-inch alloy wheel design along with black body cladding and roof rails that lends the vehicle its much needed SUV creed. Towards the rear, there are new LED tail lamps alongside a large skid plate with faux dual exhaust cut out and a roof spoiler.

Citroen C5 Aircross Interior and Features

Interior: Like the exterior, the interior of the New C5 Aircross is quirky with its almost vertical dashboard design and high center tunnel. The top half of the dashboard is covered in a soft touch material while the bottom part is finished in hard plastics.

Compared to the other Citroen models, the new SUV gets an upmarket cabin with more bells and whistles. 

Features: Equipment inside the cabin of the new C5 Aircross include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, 6 speakers, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, and rain-sensing wipers.

Safety: In terms of safety, the Citroen C5 Aircross gets 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program, traction control, ISOFIX, electric child lock, blind spot information system, hill start assist, and more as basic equipment.

C5 Aircross is priced at Rs 3999000 (ex-showroom) in India. The model is available in 2 variant - Shine trim with an automatic transmission.

Engine and Specification

Citroen C5 Aircross comes powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that can generate 174 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. This diesel unit is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The New C5 Aircross car measures 4,500 mm in length, 1,969 mm in width and 1,710 mm in height having a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. The car gets a large 52.5-litre fuel tank and 18-inch two-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels.
