Jeep Compass

Jeep Compass is a compact SUV and the first Jeep product to arrive in India. First launched back in 2017, the SUV went through a major facelift in 2021 that introduced more efficient engines along with a premium interior. Built on the FCA Small Wide LWB 4X4 platform, the Compass is one among the most sought-after AWD models in its segment. 

Jeep Compass: Exterior

The Jeep Compass exterior design is more muscular than before but is still similar with the iconic 7-slat grille finished in chrome. Compared to the pre-facelift model, the New Compass offers more prominent lines on the bonnet along with the flatter face that helps elevate the SUV look of the vehicle. The off-road ready SUV gets a chunky bumper with a large air-dam up-front.

On the sides, Compass provides a thick body coloured cladding, squared-off wheel arches and 18-inch alloy wheels. Towards the rear, the four-wheeler remains identical with wrap-around LED tail-lamps and a large single piece power-lift tailgate. 

Jeep Compass: Interiors and Features

Interior: The Jeep Compass interior has come a long way from the rudimentary dashboard of the first-generation model. The new Compass cabin feels upmarket with richer materials that include fabric, vinyl and leather. 

Features: New Compass provides features such as a large 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system that features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity along with connected car tech. 

Other new bits to the equipment list include a 10.2-inch digital drivers’ cockpit, wireless charger, dual-zone AC and a panoramic sunroof. The car also gets an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat with memory function and ventilated front seats to enhance onboard experience.

Safety: In terms of safety, the new Compass SUV gets 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, e-park brake with auto hold, TPMS, hill-start assist, hill-descent control and more basic equipment. The Jeep Compass is a 5-Star Safety rated SUV.

Jeep Compass: Price and Variants

Jeep Compass price in India starts from Rs ₹17.73 Lakhs* and extends up to Rs ₹32.67 Lakhs* (ex-showroom). The model is offered in 34 variants - Sport, Night Eagle (O), Limited (O), Model S (O), and the flagship TrailHawk. 

Jeep Compass: Engine and Specification

The Jeep Compass SUV comes offered with two engine options. The first is a 1.4-litre petrol unit mated to a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The petrol engine is good for delivering a maximum power output of 163 bhp and peak torque of 250 Nm. 

The 2nd powertrain option happens to be a 2.0-litre diesel engine. This oil mill is mated to a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic gearbox option. The power plant is good for delivering a maximum power output of 170 bhp with 250 Nm peak torque. 

The diesel engine is also the only powertrain that comes offered with Jeep’s highly rated Selec-Terrain 4X4 system that lets you choose between Auto, Mud, Sand and Snow traction modes. 

The Jeep Compass measures 4,405 mm in length, 1,818 mm in width and 1,640 mm in height having a wheelbase of 2,636 mm. The car gets a 60-litre fuel tank and up to 18-inch diamond alloy wheel.

The Jeep Compass returns an ARAI Certified mileage of up to 14.1 kmpl based on the variant selected.

Jeep Compass is available in 7 different colours. They include Techno Metallic Green, Bright White, Galaxy Blue, Brilliant Black, Exotica Red, Grigio Magnesio Grey and Minimal Grey.
