Jeep India has introduced a new automatic version of the Compass in India, priced at Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Called the Compass Sport 9AT, the new variant brings a nine-speed automatic gearbox to the entry-level Sport trim for the first time. It is now the most affordable automatic version of the SUV in the Indian market.
Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second week of November 2026 through authorised Jeep dealerships and Stellantis Brand Houses. The new variant retains the familiar 2.0-litre diesel engine and comes with front-wheel drive as standard.
Jeep Compass Sport 9AT - Price and Positioning
The new Jeep Compass Sport 9AT is priced at Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is positioned above the Sport manual and Longitude manual variants in the Compass lineup. The new model offers customers a more affordable way to get the Compass with an automatic transmission. Buyers no longer need to move to a higher trim level to choose the nine-speed automatic gearbox.

Engine and Performance
The Jeep Compass Sport 9AT uses the familiar 2.0-litre, four-cylinder MultiJet II turbo-diesel engine. It produces 170 hp and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. There are no mechanical changes to the engine, while the FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) suspension system and DST (Dynamic Steering Torque) technology are part of the Sport AT package.
Features and Safety
The new automatic variant comes with a 21.3 cm Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system. It supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Other features include steering-mounted controls and electrically adjustable outside rear-view mirrors. Safety equipment comprises six airbags, cruise control and an Auto Hold function. Although the Sport 9AT is positioned as an entry-level automatic variant, it offers a useful set of convenience and safety features for everyday driving.
Optional Accessory Pack
Jeep is also offering an optional accessory pack for Rs 29,900. It includes ambient cabin lighting, a dashcam with predictive safety functions, Swoosh exterior decals, all-weather floor mats and mud flaps. Customers can select this pack separately. These accessories are not part of the standard equipment list of the Compass Sport 9AT.
Jeep Compass Price in India
The Jeep Compass range is priced between Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 30.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Depending on the variant, customers can choose between manual and automatic transmissions, as well as front-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations.
