Hyundai Bayon CNG version launch in January 2027 Bayon Petrol AT delivers 18.6 kmpl
Hyundai has officially announced that the Bayon CNG version will be launched in the country in January 2027. The SUV is currently offered with a single 1.5L, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine paired with either a 6-speed manual and an iVT. The normal petrol automatic version is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 18.6 kmpl.
Hyundai Bayon CNG
The Bayon CNG will be the first Hyundai above 4 meters in length to offer a factory-fitted CNG option. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, NA petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. Interestingly, the SUV is likely to get an underbody CNG tank similar to the Maruti Victoris CNG. In the CNG mode, the powertrain is expected to offer a maximum power and torque output of 95 hp and 123 Nm, respectively.
Petrol MT and AT
The Bayon’s 1.5L NA petrol engine is the same unit that powers the Creta and Seltos. This engine produces 115 PS and a peak torque of 144 Nm. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and an iVT (CVT) automatic. The iVT is claimed to return an ARAI certified mileage of 18.6 kmpl.
iVT - Comes with Paddle Shifters, 3 drive modes - Eco, City and Sport. It also has Dash Boost Mode and Sporty Drive Tech to offer instant power boost and sportier driving experience.

In terms of proposition, the Hyundai Bayon measures 4245mm in length, 1810mm in width, and 1605mm in height with a wheelbase of 2600mm. The SUV has a ground clearance of 205mm, while the boot space stands at 505-litres.
