October 14, 2026: Toyota has launched the Glanza facelift at a starting price of Rs 6.99 lakh, which extends up to Rs 10.49 lakh for the top-spec variant. It comes with refreshed exterior design, additional features and a new 1.2L 3-cylinder, Z-Series petrol engine. The CNG version gets both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT options, delivering up 34.47 km/kg of fuel efficiency.

Toyota Glanza is a premium hatchback, which Toyota collaborated with Maruti Suzuki in 2019 and was last updated in 2022. The updated version of the model came with some advanced features and an efficient powertrain option. It is the most pocket-friendly product from Toyota in India and certainly stands out in the hatchback segment with its design and features. It sports the new model, inheriting a new signature design philosophy, refreshing exteriors, and advanced safety features, which makes it appealing to the urban buyer.

In terms of features and price points, the G variant of the Toyota Glanza is beyond any doubt the most value-for-money one. This would appeal to buyers who want premium features like a 9-inch infotainment system, auto climate control, and a heads-up display but do not have to pay for the high-end V variant.

Key Features of Toyota Glanza

The Toyota Glanza comes ready with premium amenities like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a heads-up display (HUD), and a 360-degree camera for added convenience and security. It gets ventilated front seats, and automatic climate control. Some of the added comfort features include cruise control, rear AC vents, and connected car technology for further comfort and tech-savvy control. Toyota Glanza Mileage

The Glanza does manage to make that mileage a cost-effective proposition for your daily commute. The petrol variants show good mileage figures, pegged at 23.80 km/l for the manual transmission (MT) variant, and the automated manual transmission (AMT) variant is a bit more, promising 24.77 km/l. But if you are looking for even better efficiency, the CNG variant shows a remarkable figure of 33.61 km/kg, which, in turn, would mean lower running costs over a while. The CNG AMT version is claimed to deliver an ARAI certified fuel economy of 34.47 km/kg.

Safety features In the Toyota Glanza, safety has been given the utmost importance as it comes along with various features that are dedicated to protecting the driver and passengers. It is installed with six airbags that will provide adequate safety in the event of an accident. The car is equipped with ABS with EBD for better braking and Hill-hold control that prevents the car from rolling on a slope. For improved stability, the Glanza comes with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). You won't struggle whenever there are sharp corners or slippery roads. The ISOFIX child seat anchors ensure that for families, child seats are easier to fix and safer. Engine and Transmission

The 2026 Toyota Glanza facelift is powered by a new Z12E 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that runs on both petrol and CNG. In petrol mode, the powertrain produces 83hp and 112Nm, and is paired to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). In CNG mode, the power and torque output drops to 70 hp and 102 Nm, respectively, and is also offered with both 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT options.

Boot Space and Dimensions

The Toyota Glanza offers practical dimensions and amplitude storage for day-to-day requirements. Having a boot capacity of 318 litres, it would be quite enough space for luggage, groceries, or other essentials for city drives and weekend trips. Glanza is 3,990mm in length, 1,745mm in width, and 1,530mm in height. The wheelbase features at 2,520 mm of the vehicle, which still permits ample legroom for passengers. It contains a fuel tank capacity of 37 litres for the petrol variant and 55 litres (water equivalent) for the CNG variant, which will enable it to run for short distances or cover long distances.

Competition Check

The Toyota Glanza will face some hard competition in the highly aggressive hatchback space. Among its closest rivals would be the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, with whom it shares a platform and mechanicals but which would still be on sale with a slightly different design and a different brand appeal. Another strong contender would be the Hyundai i20, known for its premium design and features, although these come with a higher price tag and sportier performance options.
