Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is the latest product to come out of the company’s JV with Maruti Suzuki. Developed on Suzuki’s popular Global C-platform, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder is produced at Toyota Kirloskar Motors Bidadi manufacturing facility. 

Currently in its first generation, the new model offers a host of new technologies and efficient powertrain options in the mass market segment.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Exterior

The 2023 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder’s exterior design features characteristic lines all around along with a flat bonnet giving the vehicle the much-required SUV look. Like all New Toyota cars, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder offers the signature upper grille that is finished in faux carbon fibre along with a large air intake at the bottom. Sleek twin LED DRLs flank the upper grille while the main headlamp units sit below on the muscular bumper.

Towards the sides, we get to see the new 17-inch alloy wheel design and squared off wheel arches that add to the SUV appeal of the four-wheeler. Towards the rear, we are presented with new design LED DRLs and a muscular bumper that houses the vertically stacked combination lights and a sporty skid plate.

Overall, the design of the 2023 Urban Cruiser Hyryder is unlike anything we have seen from Toyota cars in the past.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Interiors and Features

Interior: On the inside, the 2023 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder features an upmarket cabin that resembles the current generation Brezza that it shares the platform with. The interior is finished in either an all-back theme or in a dual-tone black and brown colour scheme. 

Features: The new Urban Cruiser Hyryder features is a large 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 7-inch full digital instrument cluster on the higher trims. The new equipment on the inside include drive mode selector (on select variants), wireless charger, HUD (Heads Up Display), panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats and ambient lighting among others. 

Safety: In terms of safety, the New Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder gets 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-hold control, hill descent control (on AWD models), vehicle stability control, TPMS, all-wheel disk brake, a 360-degree camera and more basic equipment.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Price and Variants

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder price in India starts from Rs 11.14 lakh and extends up to Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in a total of 13 variants namely E, S, G and V with both automatic and manual transmission options alongside three powertrain choices.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Engine and Specification

The 2023 Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is offered with one petrol, one hybrid and one CNG engine option. The petrol and the CNG fuel types utilise the familiar 1.5-litre K-Series engine that produces 101 bhp and 85 bhp respectively. These engine options come mated to either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox choice. 

The top-of-the-line hybrid engine is a new 1.5-litre unit that runs the Atkinson cycle to return a combined power output of 92 bhp and 122 Nm of peak torque. This powertrain option is available only with an e-CVT gearbox. 

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder measures 4,365 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width and 1,645 mm in height having a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. The car gets a 44-litre fuel tank and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder returns up to 27.97 kmpl in the hybrid variant and up to 26.6 km/kg in the CNG trim.
