7-Seater Toyota Hyryder SUV – Launch Timeline, AWD, Hybrid & More

7-Seater Hyryder is expected to debut by the end of 2026. It could be offered with mild-hybrid and strong hybrid powertrain options.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has several new launches planned including SUVs and MPVs with multiple powertrains. The upcoming lineup will feature the next-generation Hilux, Urban Cruiser Hyryder facelift, a three-row version of the Hyryder and new-gen Toyota Fortuner. The all-new Toyota Hilux is set to go on sale on July 28, 2026, while the remaining models are expected to make their debut by the end of 2026.

Earlier this year, the new Toyota three-row premium SUV was spied testing in Ladhak. The model appears to be a longer version of the Toyota Urban Crusier Hyryder, featuring an extended rear overhang and a longer overall length, hinting at the addition of a third row of seats. Spy shots show the presence of the rear axle shafts suggesting the inclusion of Toyota’s AllGrip (AWD – all-wheel drive) system. If offered, the AWD drivetrain system could be reserved for higher trims.

Design & Interior Highlights

The 7-seater Toyota Hyryder is likely to feature a redesigned rear profile with a longer tail section to accommodate the third-row seats. The SUV might also get newly designed front and rear bumpers, larger alloy wheels and a new connected LED taillamp signature.

With three-row seating configuration, the Hyryder 7-seater will be a practical option for buyers looking for a family SUV. In terms of features, the SUV is expected to offer an updated infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, enhanced connected car technology, ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and more.

Mild-Hybrid & Strong Hybrid Powertrains

The Toyota Hyryder 7-seater SUV is expected to share its powertrain options with its 5-seater sibling, which is available with petrol mild hybrid and strong hybrid. The mild-hybrid version features a 1.5L K15C petrol engine equipped with Toyota’s ‘Neo Drive’ technology, delivering power worth 103bhp and 137Nm of torque. It comes with 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox options.

The strong hybrid Hyryder uses Toyota’s 1.5L TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine, pushing out 92bhp and 122Nm. This motor is paired with an electric motor (79bhp/141Nm) and a 177.6V lithium-ion battery pack. The combined output stands at 114bhp. Transmission duties are handled by an eCVT gearbox.
