7-Seater Toyota Hyryder: Launch Timeline, AWD and Key Details

7-Seater Toyota Hyryder launch expected in 2026-27 It is likely to ride on a longer wheelbase, more space inside the cabin

In order to further boost sales, Toyota is planning to launch 2 new 7-seater SUVs in the Indian market in 2026-27. The company is testing an all-new 7-seater SUV, which is rumoured to be the 3-row version of the Toyota Hyryder. Adding to it, the next-generation Toyota Fortuner is also under development. While the new Fortuner launch details are yet to be revealed, it is expected to arrive in our market next year.

Toyota Hyryder 7-Seater Launch Timeline

Previous media reports claim that the 7-seater Hyryder will launch by festive season 2026, before Diwali. A possible launch in early 2027, around Bharat Mobility Global Expo can’t be ignored.

Design and Interior Details

The 7-seater Hyryder will look largely identical to its 5-seater version; however, it will have an extended side body with a longer overhang. The SUV is expected to get a slightly revised front grille, a redesigned bumper, tweaked air intakes, new alloy wheels and sleeker tail-lamps. The wheelbase is also expected to be increased to offer a more space inside the cabin.

While the interior details of the new Hyryder 7-seater are still under the wraps, it is likely to offer more features than the 5-seater model. The 7-Seat Hyryder could get a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a digital driver display. Other features could include a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, multi-colour ambient lighting, an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, HUD (head-up display) and more.

The new 7-seater Toyota SUV will be offered with six airbags as standard along with a tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold and ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).

Engine Options

The new Toyota 7-seater Hyryder is likely to be offered with the 1.5L K15 petrol mild hybrid and 1.5L TNGA strong hybrid engine. The strong hybrid model will allow Toyota to position the 3-row Hyryder as the most fuel efficient 7-seater SUV in India. A FWD (front-wheel drive) system will come as standard, while the AWD (all-wheel drive) setup will be exclusively available with the petrol mild hybrid powertrain. The 7-seater Toyota Hyryder could also be offered with a 1.5L petrol-CNG powertrain that’s good enough for 88PS and 121.5Nm. Transmission choices might include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, and an e-CVT (single-speed) for the strong hybrid version.
