Toyota Innova Hycross Facelift Could Get These 5 Big Changes in India

New grille, sleeker headlamps and redesigned tail-lamps expected. Larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and digital instrument cluster could be added. Flex-fuel strong-hybrid powertrain likely to be the biggest update.

Toyota is preparing to introduce the facelifted Innova Hycross in India on November 26, 2026. Ahead of its expected launch, the updated Kijang Innova Zenix has been revealed in Indonesia with a few important cabin upgrades. This has also given us an idea of what could change in the India-spec model. The upcoming Toyota Innova Hycross facelift is expected to receive more than just feature upgrades. Previous test mule sightings suggest that the MPV could get revised exterior styling, while a new flex-fuel strong-hybrid powertrain could become its biggest mechanical update.

Here are five major changes expected on the new Toyota Innova Hycross facelift in India.

1. Revised Front Design

The first major update could be a revised front-end design. Previous test mule sightings suggest that Toyota is working on changes to the front grille, headlamps and bumper. The updated model could feature a redesigned grille with a fresh pattern, along with sleeker headlamp units. The front bumper is also expected to receive some changes, giving the MPV a slightly different appearance. The overall design and silhouette are likely to remain similar to the current model, but these updates should help the facelift look fresh.

2. Updated Rear Styling

Along with the front-end changes, the Toyota Innova Hycross facelift could also receive revisions at the rear. The test mule sightings indicate that the updated MPV could get redesigned tail-lamps and a revised rear bumper. Toyota may also introduce minor changes to the tailgate design and exterior detailing. These updates are expected to be largely cosmetic, with the overall proportions and body shape remaining unchanged.

3. Bigger 12.3-Inch Touchscreen

The cabin could receive some of the most noticeable upgrades. Toyota has already introduced a larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen in the updated Indonesia-spec Innova Zenix, replacing the earlier 10.1-inch unit. The new system also supports in-car Wi-Fi connectivity. This larger touchscreen could make its way to the India-spec Innova Hycross facelift. If introduced, it would be a notable improvement over the current model's infotainment setup and could offer a more modern dashboard experience.

4. New 12.3-Inch Digital Instrument Cluster

Another important cabin upgrade could be a fully digital instrument cluster. The updated Indonesia-spec hybrid variants now feature a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, while the regular petrol versions get a 7-inch display. The current India-spec Innova Hycross comes with analogue instrument dials and a central multi-information display. Toyota could replace this setup with a larger digital instrument cluster in the facelifted model, particularly on the higher-spec hybrid variants. This would bring the MPV closer to other premium offerings in terms of cabin technology.

5. New Flex-Fuel Strong-Hybrid Powertrain

The biggest mechanical change expected on the India-spec Toyota Innova Hycross facelift is a new flex-fuel strong-hybrid powertrain. The updated MPV is expected to retain its existing 2.0-litre hybrid setup but receive engine-related upgrades to support different ethanol-petrol blends. The current Innova Hycross hybrid produces a combined output of 186hp and is paired with an e-CVT automatic gearbox. The upcoming flex-fuel version is expected to retain the same basic hybrid technology, although its exact specifications have not been revealed yet. It also remains to be seen which ethanol blends will be supported and whether Toyota will offer flex-fuel technology with the regular petrol variants.
