Jeep Willys to return as an entry-level, compact off-road EV It is expected to be based on Stellantis Small / Urban EV Architecture
The iconic Jeep Willys nameplate is being evaluated for a formal return as a standalone model lineup. Instead of serving solely as a trim package on the Wrangler, Stellantis is actively looking to introduce the Willys as an affordable, compact electric 4x4 off-roader targeted at global markets. The Willys revival focuses on minimal weight, low entry pricing, and lightweight off-road capability.

While larger electric offerings like the Jeep Recon focus on maximum output (670 hp) and premium price tags, the prospective Willys EV is aiming to bring 4x4 capability to lower price points. True to its original heritage, the upcoming Willys EV will offer all-wheel-drive or dual-motor 4x4 capability.
The Jeep Willys EV will be marketed as a compact / lightweight off-roader, which will come with dual-motor e-4WD. It is expected to be based on the Low-Cost Stellantis EV platform.
It is expected that the Willys EV is expected to retain the Bare-Essentials styling. It is likely to carry flat body panels, exposed hinges, removable doors/roof sections, and short overhangs engineered for approach and departure angles.
Jeep is considering the Willys EV concept alongside its core “Road to 2030” electrification strategy. While the project is under study, a production release following the next-gen Renegade could offer an entry point into authentic, open-air 4x4 driving.
