Fiat Fastback SUV spotted testing again in India Coupe-style SUV seen with petrol engine Fiat comeback rumours start once more
Fiat’s stylish Fastback SUV has been spotted testing in India once again, this time in Bengaluru. The latest sighting has started fresh discussions about whether Fiat could finally be planning a return to the Indian market.
The test car was fully covered in camouflage, but its coupe-style SUV shape was still easy to notice. It was also seen at a petrol station, confirming that the vehicle was running on a petrol engine.
Even though the SUV has now been spotted multiple times in India, Fiat has still not officially announced any comeback plans for the country.

Fiat stopped selling cars in India by the end of 2019 after struggling with low sales for several years.
Cars like the Punto and Linea had a loyal fan following, but the company could not keep up with changing market trends and stricter BS6 rules. Instead of updating its older models, Fiat shifted its focus to the Jeep brand, which is also owned by parent company Stellantis.
Since then, Jeep has become the group’s main focus in India with models like the Compass. Fiat, however, has continued providing service and spare parts support for existing customers.

The Fiat Fastback gets a sporty coupe-SUV design with a sloping roofline and bold styling.
Its shape looks slightly similar to the Citroen Basalt sold in India, although the Fastback appears more muscular and boxy. The SUV is based on Fiat’s Smart Car platform and carries many design elements from the original concept version shown globally.
International spy shots also show sleek LED lights, sporty body lines, and a modern-looking rear section.
The Bengaluru test vehicle was seen refuelling with petrol, confirming that it uses a petrol powertrain.
Reports suggest the SUV could get a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, similar to the one offered in the Citroen Basalt.
Fiat is also expected to introduce an electric version of the Fastback in global markets at a later stage.
For now, there is still no official word about Fiat returning to India.
The test vehicle seen here was a left-hand-drive model, which usually points towards global testing rather than an India launch. Experts believe Fiat could simply be using Indian roads for testing the SUV under different driving and weather conditions.
Globally, the Fastback is expected to target markets like Europe and Latin America.
